Lead-in T: Good afternoon, boys and girls! Do you like Saturday? Do you like Sunday? Do you like weekends? Ss: Yes! Ask students what can they do on weekends? T: So, what can you do on weekends? Look at me, I can .(use the body language) Ss: I can play the violin! I can play basketball. PresentationPoint to the previous Saturday and Sunday on a calendar, teach them the new phrase-last weekend. T: Class! Miss Wang had a great time last weekend? What did Miss Wang do last weekend? Let me show you.Show students the stick figures, let the students to guess what Miss Wang did last weekend. Teach them the new words and new phrases.E.g. T: What did Miss Wang do last weekend?Ss: You/Miss Wang went to the beach.T: Good! Read after me, beach,went to the beach,I went to the beach. T: What did you do last weekend? ( Point a stick figure) S1: I went to the beach. T: What did she/he do last weekend? (Ask other students) Ss: She/He went to the beach. (the stick figures)T: Lets play a game- Sharp Eyes.Give the students a picture with mosaic, ask the students what did he/she/they do? III. Pre-listening (Work on 1a). 1. did my homework _2. went to the cinema _3. went boating _4. camped by the lake _5. went to the beach _6. played badminton _ Match the activities with the picturesa-f1. Focus attention on the picture. Ask students to tell what they see. Name each activity and ask students to repeat: did my homework, went to the cinema, went boating, camped by the lake, went to the beach, played badminton.2. Point out the numbered list of activities. Say each one again and ask students to repeat.3. Then ask students to match each activity with one of the pictures. Say, Write the letter of each activity next to the words. Point out the sample answer.4. Lets check the answers.Step 1: Look at the picture and ask students two questions.Q1: How many people are talking in the picture?A1: Two people.Q 2: What are they talking about?A2: They are talking about Lucys weekend activities.Step2:Give the students a picture and ask them When did Lucy do it last weekend?T: Class! Look at the picture a, when did Lucy do it last weekend? On Sunday morning/ afternoon/night? How about picture b/e? On Sunday morning/ afternoon or night? Encourage students to guess and talk about the time. Step3:Look at the picture and answerT: What did Lucy do on Saturday?Ss: Picture b&c.T: Picture d and f? Maybe yes, maybe no, we dont know.III. While-listening (Work on 1b).1.Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.2.Play the recording a second time. This time, ask the students just focus the pictures of b、c、d、f. Write the days and times Lucy did on Saturday morning, afternoon and night.3. Listening again and pay attention to the pictures of a、e、d、f, and write the days and times Lucy did on Sunday morning, afternoon and night.3. Check the answers. T:When did Lucy do her homework? S1: On Sunday night. . . Post-listening Step1: Lets talk about Lucys activities last weekend.T: Look at the chart,lets talk about Lucys activities last weekend. For example, On Saturday morning, Lucy played badminton.Ss: In the afternoon, Lucy went to the beach.At night, Lucy went to the cinema. .T: How was it?Ss: It was great. This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.Step2: Lets repeat.Teacher play the listening recording, students follow it and repeat.Step3: Lets make a survey.Give each student a paper,ask them to make a survey in their group.T: Class! Lets make a survey. Please work in groups of four students.Ask your partner the following three questions:Q1:What did you do last weekend?Q2:When did you do it last weekend?Q3:How was it ?Then write the answers down.T: For example, this is my weekend activities.
