It mainly talks about making polite requests. This topic is related to our daily life, and its helpful to raise learning interest of students.Ideas of the Teaching DesignUse some different activities to drill Ss listening as well as speaking skills. Try to make them help their parents with the chores.Teaching Aims and Demands 1. Knowledge objects(1) Function: Make polite requests.Key vocabulary and phrases:.chore,rubbish, take out the rubbish,fold,sweep,floor.(2) Target language:-Could you please . ? -Yes, I can./ Sorry, I have to. 2. Ability objects(1)To improve Ss ability of listening and speaking.(2)To cultivate their ability of cooperating with others.(3)Enable to make polite requests.3. Moral objects(1) To make Ss help their parents with the chores.(2)Everyone should learn to be independent.Teaching Key Points 1. Master the key vocabulary and target language.2. Learn to make polite requests. GreetingsGreet the class as usual.Step2. Lead-in.(1) Show the question:What do you usually do at home? Lead Ss to answer it in different ways.(2) Show them a picture and review the phrasal verb-do/wash the dishes. Then ask them two questions:Do you often help your parents do the dishes?What do you often do to help your parents?Step3. Presentation1.Warming upShow the new words and phrases one by one, teach Ss how to read them and ask them to repeat. 2. Teach Activity1a.(1) Ask Ss what the word “chores”means.(2)Call students attention to the five pictures and let them guess what they are.Introduce some new words, and pay attention to the pronunciation.(3)Point to these items again and read each for the class.3. Play an activity.Let Ss have an interview with their teammates, and then give a report to the teacher about who is the most able student.Step4. Practice1. Teach Activity 1b.(1) Explain the instruction.(1) Play the tape once, and let the Ss finish the task. Invite one student to do it on the screen.(Others write on textbooks)(2) Repeat sentence by sentence together, and check the answers.2. Tach Activity 1c.(1) Lets talk.Present and explain these language points:A:Could you please sweep the floor?(modal verb后加V-原形表示委婉地提出请求)B: Sure/Of course/Certainly/No problem/ All right.(肯定回答)/Sorry,I have to./ Sorry, I cant. I am doing.(否定回答)(2) Show several examples and ask Ss to repeat them.(1) Give them some time to make their conversations according to the sample on the textbook. Give some instruction if they need help. Then invite some pairs to show their dialogues.Step5. Production1. Summary.Summarize the key points of this class on the screen.2. Do some exercises together to consolidate what we have learned.3. Modal education.Introduce two sayings about todays topic.Step5.Homework 1. Remember the new words and target language. (You must do it.) 2. Discuss with your partners and find out what chores you do at home and then ask and answer with your partners. (You may do it.)IX.
