Ask: Whats in my bag? Do you want to take a look? Just a minute. After taking out the hair clips, go on asking: What do you think of them? Help students to answer They are pretty. Do they match my clothes? How much are they? = How much do they cost? The yellow one is/ costs 5 yuan. Its expensive.The red one is/costs only 1 yuan. Theres a discount on it. Which one would you like to buy? Do you have enough money?Step 2: Reading and finishing off Part B1Ask students to read the new words and expressions together. Then finish off Part B1.Answers: 1-f, 2-e, 3-d, 4-a, 5-b, 6-c.Step 3: Listening and answeringT: Do you still remember Amy is going to buy birthday presents for Simon and Sandy? Now she is shopping. Listen to the tape and answer the following questions:Where is she shopping?How do the shopkeepers greet her?What does she want to buy for Simon/Sandy?Step 4: Reading and answeringAsk students to read the two conversations on their own. Then ask How many things does Amy look at? What are they? How much do they cost? Teachers can draw a table on the blackboard and ask students to write the answers.What does she buy for Simon/Sandy?How much do they cost?Why cant she buy a CD?What does the shopkeeper say when she knows Amy cant buy a CD?
