Teaching material analysis Section A 1a-1c is the first period of Unit10, the topic of which is decision making and the function of which is to talk about consequences using the target structure first conditional if + will. This part, through the listening and speaking activities in 1a-1c, sets the scene of going to a party in which the target structure is introduced and practiced. What the Ss have acquired in this period will lay a good foundation to the learning of the rest part in this unit. 2. Students analysis The topic about party (talked about in unit9), vocabulary in this period as well as the structure “be going to” and “will” indicating the future are familiar to the Ss of grade eight. Therefore, what they have learned will help them to engage in talking about the topic in this period. What is new to them is the new structure: first conditional if + will and to talk about consequences by using this new structure. In making the teaching plan, most activities are made to help them to achieve this goal.3. Teaching objectives 1) knowledge objectivesa.
