Ask students two questions to answer and write down their answers on the blackboard.When do we have the first class in the morning?What time do you go to school in the morning?2. Let them think about the following question.Why students go to school at different time?The teacher can give them some help if they need.3. Present the title of Unit3 and explain “get to”.Step2. Presentation1. First of all, ask students to say some words about transportation theyve known.2. Present new words about transportation with pictures on the screen.3. Have a guessing game to consolidate the words we learned.4. Present new phrases on the screen. Make a conclusion about “take” and pay attention to “ride a bike” and “walk”.Step3. Practice1. Match the phrases or words with pictures in 1a on page 13.2. Check the answers.Step4. Presentation1. Present new sentence patterns: How do you get to school? I take the bus/subway/train.& I ride a bike. & I walk.2. Present new sentence patterns about singular form of the third person:How does he/she get to school? He /She takes the bus/subway/train. & He/ She rides a bike. & He/ She walks.3. Present the ways of three teachers to get to work on the screen and let students to make a similar conversation.Step5. Listening practice1. Listen to the tape and find the ways students get to school. Finish 1b on page13.2. Check the answers.Step6. Consolidation1. Read the dialogue in 1c.2. Make a similar dialogue according to the information in 1b.3. Ask some students to present their dialogues.Step7. Practice1. Work in pairs. Find the ways your partner and your partners friend get to school.2. Ask some pairs to show their dialogues to the whole class.3. Work in groups of four. Find the ways your group members get to school then make a report. You can start like this: In my group XX takes the bus to school and4.
