After reading the story, Ss will understand the story and grasp the pronunciation and meaning of the new words. Ss will also get improved in reading skills and be more creative by rewriting the story.The analysis of the students:Ss in Grade5 have learned English for more than two years. They are capable of some challenging and flexible tasks. They are also more mature than younger students. Therefore, reading a picture book will help arouse their interest in learning English.Teaching aims: 1. Knowledge aims:(1) Ss will grasp the pronunciation and meaning of the new words: July, August, September, October, November and December.(2) Ss will learn to use the key sentences like When is? Its in(3) Ss will understand the whole story and its details.2. Ability aims:(1) Ss will be able to read and understand the story by guessing and predicting.(2)Ss will get improved in the ability of critical thinking after the reading of the story.3.
