Students can understand the whole passage and some words like: kitten, diary, still, noise, open, walk.2. Finding the key words to describe the kittens.3. Describe the growth of the two new kittens. Teaching Aids教具准备Red packets and pictures about many animals, plants and some people. Some words cards about the kittens and so on.Teaching Procedure教学环节Teaching Design教学设计Students activities学生活动Design Intent设计意图Warm-up热身1、Free talk about dates and animals.2、Grab the Red Packets. Try to read the dates and get the red packets. In each packet, there is a date and a picture about an animal, a plant or some people which can be used in the part to describe animals, plants or some people.Motivate the students interest, review the dates and pave the path for the latter part.Presentation新授(1)Lead in:(接上面Grab the Red Packets最后一个日期April 15th)T: You know, April 15th is special for Sarah. Why? Maybe her diary can tell us. Lets have a look. Teach diary.(2) Listen and answer: T: Oh, what is Sarahs diary about? Maybe we need to listen. Can you listen and answer: What is Sarahs diary about?T: (After watching)Can you tell me? What is Sarahs diary about?T: Yes. Baby cats are also called kittens.Two new kittens (Put the cards: Two new kittens on the black board.)(3).Extension:You know, Baby chicken is called chick. Baby duck is duckling. Baby dog is called puppy. And baby cat is called kitten.(4)Read and match: T:Good! Sarah has two new kittens. They have different characters at different times. Can you help me to match them?Check.(5)Read and circle the key words in pairs.Example: From this, we know on April 15th, my cat has two new kittens. They are pink because they are very young. They still cant see. (Put the word cards: pink, cant see and the two new kittens with April 15th on the blackboard). Can you find the other times and other characters? Please read and circle the key words in pairs. Maybe the words or phrases here can help you.Check: Let the students choose the word cards and put them in the right place.(6)Listen and repeat. Now we know the characters about the two new kittens. Lets listen and repeat.(7)RetellExample: Retell with the students together by using the words or pictures on the blackboard.Can you describe the kittens in groups.
