Lesson Plan I. Background information1. The analysis of teaching materialThe teaching material is from Go for It Book 8B Unit7 section A. The topic of this unit is about “Complaints”. The functions of this unit are “make requests and apologize”. The materials are mainly from the real life and familiar to Ss. In the meanwhile, the topic of this unit is about politeness, which is easy for students to understand and get in to character. But several language structures are easy to be confused. So in this lesson, teacher should use lots of Pictures of the scene of life to make student actively participate in the class and improve their ability of using the language. And then learn how to better communicate with others. 2. The analysis of students learning conditionThe students are from grade 2 in junior high school and they have learned many verbal Phrases, which lay a good language foundation for expression. Besides, students have learned the use of imperative sentence and can you/ could you please to make a request. Having the perceptive context of this unit, students can link what they have learned with the topic of this unit smoothly.II. Teaching aims1. Knowledge Aims :By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: l Master the new words and phrases: dish, yard, wear jeans, put on, and get out of, in a minute.l Use the structures “would you mind +gerund (formulaic); will for intentions”. For instances, “would you mind moving your bike? Not at all, I will do it right away.”l read and understand the dialogue2. Ability Aims: Students should be able to:l Use the key sentence patterns to make conversations.l Listen, speak, write and use the new words and know how to politely make a request and apologize in daily life.l Communicate with others better.3. Affection Aims:l Students will know how to politely make a request and how to make an apology. Whats more, they will aware of the importance of politeness and behaving oneself well.l The students are able to refuse or stop others impolite behaviors, and thus enhance students ability to adapt to society.l The students are able to know how to calmly and politely deal with the sudden problems that happen in daily life.III. Language focuses and anticipated difficulties1 Language focusesu This is a listening and speaking period so the focus is to cultivate the students listening and speaking skills. u It is also important for the Ss to politely make a request and make an apology. u It is of great significance to master the new words and target language.2 Anticipated difficultiesu As the Ss have a limited vocabulary, so they may have difficulty in using the new words naturally and fluently in real situations. Besides, they may have problems in using the key sentence patterns naturally and fluently in making conversations. And in daily life, it is difficult for students to politely make a request or an apology and learn to communicate with others.3 Solutionsu Based on the different circumstances, Ill adopt different solutions. For example, if Ss cant use target language to make dialogues naturally, Ill let them practice more and speak more in the class.IV. Teaching methodWell, how to achieve the teaching goals better, to stress the key points and break through the difficult points? The key is how to make use of the proper teaching methods. So in this lesson, I plan to use Communicative language teaching, Situational language teaching, Task-based language teaching, The Audio lingual language teaching and CAI.V.
