Language Objectives(1) Important words and phrasesDistrict,shopping malls,harbour,architecture,lively,attractive,gorgeous(2) Important sentence patternsa.This is one of the most attractive places Ive been to.b.Its so lively, and everyone seems so friendly.c.pretty hot and wet in the summer, but it can be quite cold in the winter.d.This is the business district. They have put up a lot of high-rise buildings recently. And there are some great shopping malls.e.Its a gorgeous island with some really interesting architecture.f.We are entering the western district,the most interesting part of the city.Its got some pretty parks2. Ability Objectives(1) learn about the ability of self-learning.(2) learn about the ability of listening and grasping the information.(3) learn how to introduce a place by using some informations.3. Moral Objectives (1) Help students to raise their cooperation awareness.(2) Help students to cultivate their love for their hometown and motherland.(3) Help students to foster the ability of communication.II. Important Points1. How to grasp the main information of the text.2. How to introduce a place.3. How to improve reading ability.III. Difficult Points1. How to analyze the text and grasp the information of the text.2. learn how to describe a place.IV. Teaching Methods1. Communicative Approach(pair work,conversation,discussion) 2.Task-based language teaching approach(listening ,reading,asking and answering) 3. Teaching Aids: a tape recorder, a computer V. Teaching ProceduresStep I Greeting and revision(5 mins)1.Greeting students as usualT: Hello! My dear boys and girls! S: Hello!. 2. Review the words of some constructions and places with students by using the PPT T: Can you remember what we learned yesterday? S: Yeah, we . T: That is good! Yesterday we learned some words of the construction and some places. Right? S: Yes. T: Ok! Lets look at the screen.(show the picture) What is this we called? S: Its an. 3. Review some adjective words with students by using PPTT: And we also learned how to use some adjective words to discrible the places or buildings. Right? S: Yeah. T: look at this picture.The flower is .?( show the picture to Ss) S: Its . Step II Lead-in (5mins) 1.Play the music鼓浪屿and ask students to guess which city does it song.T: Now ,I have a question to ask you.Dou you like listening to music? S: Yes.we like.T: Ok,lets listen to a music and guss which city it is according to the beautiful song? ( play the music to students )S:.T: have you sung it before?S: yeah.T: can you tell me which city does it song? who wants to try? please!S: It is xiamen.T: Is she right?S: yeah. 2. Ask students to talk what they have known about Xia Men and show some pictures about Xia Men.T: did you visit it before?S: .T:What do you know about XiaMen? Ok,who wants to tell us what is it like?.Please.S: It is.T: Anyone elese? S:.T: That is so wonderful. Do you want to visit there?S: yeah.T:Now,let me show you some beautiful picture about Xia Men.( show the picture)Step III Pre-reading (Listening) (6 mins)1. Listen to the tape and choose which words are included from the screenLocation climate history people economy District products attractive traffic shopping malls spring gorgeous lively T: Now,lets open to page 32.look at the reading and vocabulary.As we can see that it is a conversation between Xiao li and John martin, and they are talking about Xia Men .lets listen to the tape,while you are listening choose which words are included from the screen .understand?S:yeah,T:Ok,lets go.( play the tape )T:Have you finished it?S:yes.T/S:The words are. 2.Deal with the exercise 1T:Good.From listening we can get some basic informations about the text,right? S: yeah.T: Now,lets look at exercise 1,and talk about it. The first one,.S:.1. John Martin is visiting _.A. Xiao Lis hometown B. a town near where Xiao Li lives C. a shopping mall2. Work in pairs to read the dialog.one is Xiao li and one is john martin,understand?S:yeah.T: After reading you should discuss the exercise 2 and finish it together.The first group which finish it is Bingo!Ok?S:Ok.T:Good.Remember Ill give you 5mins to do it.GO!S:Bingo!T: ok, boys and girls,come on. 2.Ask students answer and deal with exercise 2T: Have you finish it? lets check the answer.the Bingo group ,Can you tell us your answer?.S:.Judge the following sentences ( T or F )v 1.
