T: Look at the picture of Liu Qian. He is a famous magician. I think Liu Qian is the most talented magician in China. He can do magic. He is good at magic.(explain“be good at”) Like this, introduce Lang Lang, Yao Ming and the girl in my class to the students.Step two 2a Ask students: Who is the most talented person in your class? What can he/she do? Tell your partner about this person. A: I thinkis the most talented person. B: What can he/she do? A: He/She can Step three Leading-in T:Look at these famous person. They are talented, but I think they have one thing in common. That is they are hard-working. So that they are successful. T:If you want to be successful, maybe you should study harder and harder. Success is up to you to decide. Explain“havein common” and“be up to”to the students. T:Ask students to see the photo of A Bao, the best singer. How do we know him? I think most of us know him by watching TV. Do you like watching TV?T:I like talent shows best. Many talent shows around the world. Like: American Idol, Americas Got Talent, Chinas Got Talent.T:They are very interesting, they are fun to watch. After reading, I think you will like them.Step four Reading Ask students to listen to the passage. Match the main idea with each paragraph. Check studentsanswers.
