Knowledge objects:1).Function: Students can be able to talk about the activities people are doing.2).Key words and phrases: newspaper, use, soup, wash; watch TV, read a newspaper, listen to a CD, use a computer, make soup, wash the dishes.3).Target language:- What are you dong? - Im watching TV. - What is he/she dong? - He/Shes using the computer. - What are they dong? - Theyre cleaning.2. Ability objects:1). Through this class, students are able to use the structures in proper situation.2).Students can talk about what people are doing by using present progressive tense.3.Emotional objects:1) To cultivate students the positive value of present living.2) To love and cherish their present life.3) To cultivate students cooperative sprits and communication skills.二.Teaching key and difficult points:1.Teaching key points:The new words and phrases in this unit and explanation of Present Progressive Tense.2.Teaching difficult points:Students can master the new structures and phrases and know how to use the structures in proper situation.三.Teaching methods: Communication Teaching Method, Free Talk四.Teaching procedures:Step1.Warming-up and lead-in.1. Enjoy a chant, “ What are you doing?” 2.Find out the words in the chant,then lead in the new lesson.Step2:presentation1. Show some pictures about different activities. Teach the new words and phrases.2.Work on 1a Show the picture in 1a to the students.T: This is a happy apartment. There are many rooms in it. Look! Many people are in different rooms. They are doing different things. What are they doing? Please look carefully, match the words with the activities.T: Now lets check the answers.3.A guessing game.Ss guess what people are doing to the sounds. 4. The teacher asks a student to do an action and let other students guess the activity:T: What are you doing?S1: I am doing my homework. (Help him/her to answer)T: What are you doing?S2: Im playing the guitar.T: What are you doing?S3: Im eating breakfast.Teach the sentences. Step3:Practice1.Listening (Activity 1b)Play the tape for twice.1).Play the tape for first time, listen to the material carefully and number them .2).Secondly , T selects one student to tell what they are doing and check the answers.2.Pairwork (Activity 1c)T: Now, lets look at the picture in 1a. Please work in pairs , ask and answer like this:A: Look at the picture. What is he doing?B:He is reading a newspaperA: What is he doing?B: He is cleaning the room. A: What is she doing?B: She is talking on the phone. 3.Listening comprehension.1.The teacher shows the picture and says: Steve and Jack are talking on the phone, now please listen to their conversation and answer the questions in 2a. Then check the answers: (1). He is watching TV. (2). He is listening to a CD . T: Now lets listen to the tape again. Put these questions and answers in order to make a conversation.2. Listen to the tape in 2b carefully. Check the answers.Step4:Consolidaton1.Groupwork(work on 2c)T: lets look at the pictures and practise in pairs.A: Is Steve writing a letter?B: No, he isnt.
