Unit 1 whats the matter?Section B (1a-1d)教学目标:1、 知识与技能:1. 学习并使用whats the matter?/ whats wrong?询问他人烦恼;2. 学习使用情态动词should/ could提出建议; 3.谈论自己学习、生活中存在的问题;2、 过程与方法:通过老师自己的问题导入新课,引出本课任务:解决我们周末 调查结果“我的烦恼”;自主探究:1a Sallys problems 严重与否; 理解新知;听力练习,向Sally &Peter学习解决问题的途径;学以致用:小组讨论解决“我的烦恼”,首尾呼应。3、 情感态度价值观:通过共同探讨、解决各种烦恼和困惑,学会反思自己、体谅他人,树立合作精神,培养积极乐观的情感态度。教学重、难点:重点:能够听懂听力材料内容,完成相应选择、连线等任务; 能够自由谈论自己的问题、提出建议并对建议作评价、筛选。难点:1a中serious or not serious阐述原因时可能英语表达有困难,老师要及时给予相应的指导。导学过程:Step 1 Greetings & Lead in How is the weather today? Sunny Its such a fine weather today. But no matter how fine the weatheris, how good we wish our life could be, there are always problemsaround us. Take me for example, I have a really serious problem: Iargued with my husband. Do you know why?(show a group of pictures while the teacher is telling the experience)I said, “My clothes are out of style. I want to buy some new clothes in style.”He answered, “I dont have enough money.” Then I went to watch TV. And I saw the advertisement of Ice Age 4,so I said, “I want to see this movie. Lets go to see this movie.” But he said, “I want to stay at home.” Unhappily, I went to sleep. But while I was sleeping, he played hismusic too loud, which made me crazy. So finally we had a very big fight.What should I do? When we get into trouble, what is the better choice? A: we could leave it as it be. B: we should face it, and try to deal with it.Of course, we usually choose B. Can you remember the survey we didlast week? Here are some of the results. And today we are going to solvethese problems together. Before we deal with our own problems, letssee how Sally and Peter solve theirs.Step 2 Presentation (1a)Sally is unhappy because she has many problems, and she thinks allof her problems are serious. But is that true? Which do you think is serious? And which do you think is not serious? OK, share your opinions with us.S1: I think No. one is serious becauseS2: I think No. 3 is serious becauseT: I agree with some of your ideas, and I think No.5 is really not serious. As students, we wear school uniforms every day. So it doesnt matter at all if our clothes are in style or not. Step 3 Listening practice (1b)Lead in: in order to solve her problem, Sally is telling her friend some of her problems and asking for advice. Lets listen and circle the problems you hear.After listening to the tape once, the teacher checks the answers:How many problems have you circled? What are they? Step 4 Pair work (1c)So can you give Sally some advice to help her? Lets do a pair work.A: Sally, you look unhappy. Whats wrong?B: My clothes are out of style.A: You should/ you could Thank you for your wonderful advice, and Sally is happy now.(show a picture with a girl laughing. And then show an upset boy )But look at Peter. Is he happy?Step 5 Listening practice (2a& 2b)Peter is unhappy because he argued with his best friend. And his another friend is trying to help him. Lets see whats going on.2a. Listen and circle “could” or “should”.After listening once, and check the answers.2b. Does Peter like his friends advice? Why doesnt he like his friends advice? Lets listen to it again and match the advice with the reasons.After listening, check the answers in pairs:S1: You could write him a letter.S2: I dont writing letters.Role play role play the conversation between and his friend.After that, ask students the question:What do you think of Peter?He is indecisive and troublesome. But there are no friends who never fight. So when you argue with your friends next time, just tell him or her your feelings. Because if you are real friends, they will understand you.Step 6 Group workSo how did Sally and Peter deal with their problem?They asked their friends for advice.As there are so many friends in our class, I think it will be much easier if we deal with our own problems with the help of teamwork. So lets solve our problems together.(Let each group choose one problem, and discuss with the group member to give as much advice as possible.)Now, share your advice with us.R
