Encourage students to value the time. Teaching key and difficult: Describe your day. Talk about the time in pairs. Teaching methods: Discussion in groups Direct method.Teaching media:Groupwork in teams to discuss the ways of the time . Talking in pairs. Teaching process: Step、 : Warming up and Review.1. Learning a saying. “ Time is life, time is money .” Look at the pictures. Talk about what time you do.2. Ask answer in pairs, what time does he / she usually?3. Invite a reporter to make a survey , interview some students : what time do you usually get up / eat breakfast/ go to school ? T: When do students usually go to school ? R: They usually go to school at 6:40. Step、 :Presentation : Learn the new words of time. Discuss in griups, How to describe the time. Then each group asks a student to say the results. S1 : Read the numbers directly. S2: 分钟+past +点钟。S3 : 差的分钟+ to +(点钟+1). Step 、 : Let s look at when students do these things, match the activities with the time of the day. What time does he / she do homework / go to bed ? Ask the students to turn to P10. Look at 1a. Task : Make a survey. We want to know what time your friends get up / go to school / go to bed. Ask and finish the survey form. Then tell us the results of the survey.Name Get up Go to bedLi Jiayue usually gets up at 5:00, and she goes to school at 6:30,she goes to bed at 9:40 in the evening. T : Li Jiayue is harding. Let s learn from her. ( Encourage her ) Step、 : Lets look at when Tom gets up . Practice listening. First circle the activities you hear. Then write the times. Check the listening answers . Talk with your parter about Tom . Ask students to make a dialogue , ask and answer in pairs .S1: What time does Tom do his homework ? S2: He does his homework at 5:30. S1 : What time does Tom go home ? S2 : He goes home at 4:15. Step、 : Writing . Tom s day very busy . what about you ? Describe “ My day” then find out several students to read . Step、 : Sum up : what have you learned? We learned half,psat, quarter,we can describe the time.Exercise : Look at the picture, then complete the dialogue. A: When does Jim get up ?B : He usually gets up at half past six . A: When do your parents clean the room ?B : They usually clean the room at a quarter past eight in the morning. Homework: 1.
