Unit 9 What does he look like? 第1课时 Section A (1a-2d) 教学设计 一、教学目标: 1.语言知识目标: 1) 能掌握以下单词: curly, straight, tall, medium, thin, heavy, build, tonight, little, cinema, glasses, later 2)能掌握以下句型: What does he look like? Hes of medium/build. What does he look like? She has long straight hair. Is he tall or short?2. 情感态度价值观目标: 让学生学会友好、客观地描述人的形象。二、教学重难点1. 教学重点: 掌握单词,熟练掌握描述人的形象的句型。2. 教学难点: 掌握描述人的形象的句型。三、教学过程. Warming-up and revision 首先展示三位外貌不同的人物照片:一个胖而高大的男生(a fat and tall boy),一个瘦而较矮的男生(a thin and short boy),一个中等身材(of medium height)。目的:引起学生的学习兴趣,了解人物的外貌特征,培养学生客观地描述别人的外貌,不要以貌取人(Dont judge by appearance)。 然后用这两名学生为例,教:heavy, tall, thin, short并引出句型:1. What does he look like? Hes really tall. He has long straight hair. 2. What does she look like? Shes of medium/build. . Presentation学习课本的第一部分P49,1a1. Match the words with the people in the picture. 先看图片,然后搭配图片和相关的外貌特征的词。Now please look at P49, Use the letters to match the people in the picture with one of the numbered words. Write each letter next to a numbered word. You can use some letters more than once. Point out the sample answer. (Keys: f g h e, b h, a, e, a h, f, g, h, a, g)留2-3分钟读写1a中的单词、短语。2. 引导学生熟悉有关描述人的外貌特征的词(1). 展示漫画人物教:height,curly等单词。然后操练“What does he look like? He is /has.” 注意be 动词用法。(2). 一个cartoon girl 教身体的各部位(ear, face, hair, eye, nose, mouth)。然后操练“What does he look like? He has long straight hair.” 注意has的用法。(3). pictures 来教有关头发的词汇, 注意has的用法。接着教a beard, a moustache, glasses。 .Listening (1b) Look at the picture of 1a, listen and fill the blanks in the picture. Listen carefully and fill in the blanks and find Amys friend? We will listen twiceThe first time, just listenThe second time,listen and fill in the blanksAnd say the look of Amys friend( Hes really tallAnd he has curly hair.) IV. Practice (比眼力) 展示六组卡通人物,回答“What does he/she look like?”,再出示答案,对比回答的不同之处。1. Read the conversation and recite it. 2. Practice like the conversation according to some pictures. V. Pairwork (1c)1.Teacher:“I have a good friend. I will tell you what does he or she look like. Help me find my friend in 1a.”展示两组对话,根据对话内容找到相关人物。 2. Ask the students to describe one of the people in 1a, the partner find him or her.VI. Listening (2a & 2b)1. Listen and answer the questions. (2a) a) Is David tall or short?b) Does Sally have long or short hair?c) Is Peter tall or short?2. Listen again and fill in the chart. (2b) DavidSallyPeterishas 3. Listen a third time to understand the key words. VII. Practice (2c)1. Student A looks at the chart in 2b. Student B asks Student A questions about one of the people and then draws a picture of the person quickly. 2. Act the dialogue. VIII. Role-play the conversation. (2d) 1.Show the main words: glass glasses cinema2. Read the conversation to answer the questions: (1)When are they meeting? (2)Where are they meeting? (3)What does David look like? (4) Is he tall or short? 3. Read the conversation. 4. Role-play the conversation.IX. Language points1. curly 作形容词,意为“卷曲的;卷毛的”。其反义词为straight,意为“直的”。例如: Does she have curly hair or straight hair? 她的头发是卷发还是直发? 【回顾】straight 作副词,意为“直地; 笔直地”,例如: Go straight along and then turn left. 2. height 作名词意为“高度”,例如: Whats the height of the tree? 【拓展】high adj. 意为“高的”,通常用来修饰高大的建筑物。例如: Mr. Smith works in that high building. 3. thin adj. 意为“瘦的”,其反义 词可以是 heavy;也可以是 fat (有点褒义)。例如:My cousin is a little thin.Mikes grandpa is very heavy. 4. a little 意为“有点儿”,用来修饰形容词。例如:Its a little cold tonight. 【拓展】a little 意为“一些;少许”后跟不可数名词。例如:Theres a little meat in the bowl. 碗里有点肉。 5. glass 作“玻璃”讲时,是不可数名词;作“玻璃杯”讲时为可数名词;而glasses则是“眼镜”之意。例如:Glass is broken easily. 玻璃很易碎。 Theres no water in your glass. 你的杯子里没有水了。 Does she wear glasses? 她戴眼镜吗? X. 小试身手(补全对话)1. What does your aunt _ _? She has long _ hair. And she is _ _ height. Shes a little _. 2. What does your math teacher _ _? He has _ straight _. Hes _ and of _ build. Does he wear _? Yes, he does. XI. Homework 1. 总结所学过的描述人物长相的词汇,用英语写出来。 2. 编写三个小对话来描述一下你的家庭成员(爷爷/奶奶;爸爸/妈妈;哥哥/妹妹)。 板书设计:Section A (1a-2d)Words & expressions : Drills:curly, straight, build, tonight, What does he look like?tall, medium, thin, heavy, Hes really tall.little, cinema, glasses, later She has long straight hair.
