Discern the following words: stop ride straight walk bicycle and write the word “stop”.2. Learn the following sentences: Stop! Dont go! Go! Its green now.Dont walk! Turn left! Dont turn right here! Be quiet! Dont ride your bicycle here! Go straight on!3. Understand the rules like “Dont ride your bicycle here!”.Ability aims: 1. Oral use of such statements issued a directive .e.g. “Stop! Dont go! Go! Its green now.”2. Grasp the usage of Imperative sentences. Correctly use imperative sentences in daily life.3. Improve students listening and speaking ability by reading and practicing. Emotion aims: Know traffic signs. Develop the good habit of obeying traffic rules.Teaching key points: Oral use of such statements issued a directive .e.g. “Stop! Dont go! Go! Its green now.”Teaching difficulties: Grasp the usage of Imperative sentences.Teaching methods: Task-based approach, game,TPR,listening and practiceTeaching aids: tape recorder,cardsTeaching course:Step 1 Warm-upChant “Left foot, right foot, go straight on, turn left/right”Step 2 Presentation1. Copy the model of traffic police directing traffic and ask the Ss “What am I?” (You are a policewoman.) Do you know what I mean? According to the actions, the Ss answer “Turn left. Turn right. Go straight on. Stop! ”In order to our safety, on the road we not only obey traffic polices order but also understand lots of traffic signs.2. This lesson well continue learning Imperative sentences by knowing traffic signs. Now please turn page 40 and look at Part 1.Disscus “Whats the meaning of each picture?” in fours. 3. Hold up cards. Have the Ss say the meaning of each card in Chinese.Write each sentence on the Bb.4. Teach new words and unfamiliar words to the Ss. Then have them read together.Step 3 Practice1. Practice in groups. (Give the cards to the Ss in the front row.)2. Have a competition in four groups. (Lets see which group is best.)Step 4 Listening practice1. Books open. Get the Ss to listen and point to the right picture.2. Listen and repeat. When listening to the sentence, the student owned the card holds it up, the others read aloud.Step 5 Consolidation1. Have the Ss read and write the number. Then check the answer. Ask eight Ss to answer.2. Invite a student to act traffic police. Tell him to do the following three actions. Stop! Dont go! Go straight on! Turn left! When he does each action, have class say what it means in English. Then ask one student to come to the front to find out the card and put it up on the Bb next to the sentence.3. Play “A well-informed person” game. After finding the card, let the student put it up next to the sentence on the Bb .Using the same way, put up the rest of cards on the Bb next to the right sentences
