Im more outgoing than my sister Good morning, everyone, I am NO.9. It is my great honor to share my lesson with all of you. The content of my lesson is SectionA 1a-1c of Unit3 Im more outgoing than my sister from PEP English Book, the first semester of Grade Eight. To make my presentation much clearer, Id like to divide the teaching strusture into five parts. Now I am about to present them one by one.Part 1 Analysis of the teaching materialThe content is the first period of Unit3 and it is around “trait”to carry out teaching activities. Students can talk about personal traits and compare people by learning new words and key sentences. In Grade seven, students have learned some words to describe people, so it is easy to extend deeply in this lesson. This topic is related to students daily life so that students will have strong interest about this lesson and will be active during the class. This lesson not only will help students review the old knowledge, but also will be helpful for their further study in Unit3.According to the studentsEnglish level and the demands of the New Standard English, I divide my teaching aims into four objects. The first is knowledge and skills. By the end of this class, students should master new words and learn to use the key sentences to communicate withe others.The second is process and method. This class is to develop studentsabilities of speaking and making conversation in English.The third is emotional attitude and value. I hope through this lesson students will learn to pay respect to others and increase studentsinterest in English learning. Whats more I also set the evaluation objective to check if students master the knowledge and analyze their learning situation.Based on the teaching aims, I make the key points are new words and key sentence structure. While the difficult points are to use more words to describe people and compare the diffences between people.Part 2 Analysis of studentsThe students in Grade 8 learned English for many years, they have some basic English background knowledge, so the teacher should provide them the chances of using language. But as the middle school students, their age and personal characteristic have considerable differences. To some students who are active, but they cant keep attention for a long time; to some students who are introverted, they are too shy in the class; to some students who even dont like English. Face all the situations teachers should take all kinds of methods to solve them.Part 3 Analysis of teaching and learning methodsWith the help of multimedia and blackboard, I will mainly use the task-based teaching approach together with the communicative teaching method and the competition teaching method. Also in my class, I will use some encouraging remarks, such as well done you did a good jobto help every student set up self-confidence.Part 4 Teaching procedureIn order to achieve my teaching aims sucessfully I divide my teaching procedure into five steps.Step 1 Warming upBefore the class, I will tell students that today we study in the form of group competition. All students divide into four groups, each group can gets stars by finishing tasks, which group gets the most stars will be the winner.The method of competition can increase students strong interest and can stimulate their desire to get more stars.Step 2 Lead inI will design a Guess Game. I use some easy words to describe one student in the class and let all students guess who is he/she. Each group has one chance to guess, if the answer is right ,all the students in this group can get stars, if not they cant get stars.By playing this game can help students to review the old knowledge and lead to the new lesson naturally.Step 3 PresentationFirst, I will show some pictures of famous people, let students observe the traits of these people and try to describe the traits.E.g. Show pictures of Hanhong and Lin xinru, Yaoming and Pan changjiang, let students observe. I will lead students like this From the pictures, we can see that Hanhong is heavy and Lin xinru is thin. Then lead to new words.Utilize the pictures of famous people can attract students attention at once. And use the words with its opposite can make students learn new words more easily.Second, show the pictures of famous people again. This time I will lead students try to compare their diffences. E.g. Yaoming is tall. Pan changjiang is short. So we can say that Yaoming is taller than Pan changjiang.Then lead to key sentence.Make full use of the old knowledge to lead new knowledge can scatter the teaching difficulties so that students can master new knowldege more quickly.Third, play a game. Each group chooses a student to describe one people in the class by using the new words and key sentences and other groups guess who is he/she. Which group guess right first will get stars.Students can consolidate the new words and key sentence by playing the game.Step 4 ConsolidationIn this step, I will design two tasks.T 1 listen and number.T 2 make conversations.Students will according to their English level to choose one task to complete. But each task can gets the number of stars are different.This step can make students active again. Every student can make a progress by completing different tasks.step 5 HomeworkI wll let students review the new words、 key sentences and describe two friends to your parents, then try to compar
