Be able to listen understand, speak out, read out and write the meaning of the words and phrases: fell off, Labour Day, mule, Turpan, could, till. In addition, students can use the sentences structures: Where did you go .? What did you do? 2. Help students know how to do teamwork with others. 3. Help students understand traveling is a part of our lives and when you are in Rome, do as Romans do.2 Teaching important and difficult points: 1. Important points: Where did you go .? What did you do? 2. Difficult points: Use past tense properly in real situation.3 Teaching aids: PPT, video4 Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warm-up 1. Greetings T: Good morning, everyone. How are you today? Ss: Fine, thank you. And you? T: Im fine, too. 2. Teacher plays the video which is about the past tense and help Ss sing together. This part is to create a circumstance of learning English.Step 2 PreviewPlay a game. It is to help students review the past tense that we have learnt before. Raise students interest of learning v-ed.Step 3 Presentation1. Teacher shows a picture of the calendar, asks Ss: Look at the calendar. It has red-colored dates. Why does it have red-colored dates? Ss answer: holidays.2. Teacher: As students, we also have holidays, summer holiday and so on. Do you like holidays? Do you go on trips? What do you usually do over your trips? Help Ss answer these questions due to their real lives.3. Teacher shows some pictures about her own traveling experiences and say: I like holidays, too. Sometimes I stay at home and do the things I like to do. Sometimes I go on trips. Last summer holiday, I went to Laoshan, Qingdao. I did many interesting things there. Look, I climbed a mountain, swam in the sea, and I took lots of pictures. I also ate lots of sea food in Qingdao. Ss are enabled to learn the words and phrases: climbed, swam, took, ate, sea food, rode a horse. 4. Teacher shows some pictures about Zhanqiao, the Sand Lake, the Great Wall, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang. This part is to introduce some beautiful places to the students and make the key point of this lesson out- Xinjiang. 5. Teacher: Now lets visit Xinjiang together and after watching the video, please tell me what do you know about Xinjiang, eg the people, the food, fruit and the places of interests there. The purpose of designing this part: after watching the video, Ss are eager to know something about Xinjiang.6. Teacher shows some pictures about the food, the places, things you can do in Xinjiang. This part is to teach Ss the new words and phrases: Turpan, Mt. Tianshan, mule, fell off, lots of.7. Teacher shows a video about John and answer the questions: Where did he go? What did he do there?8. Listen to the tape again and fill in the blanks. Step 4 Consolidation 1. Voice acting 2. Writing 看图写作文,至少五句话。六幅图中可以选择3到4幅图来写。My last summer holiday This part is to make students enhance the knowledge that we learnt today. 范文 Last summer holiday, I went to Xinjiang with my friends. I went to Turpan and ate lots of grapes. I also rode a horse. We went camping at night. And we saw a mule there. What a happy holiday!Step 5 ExtensionIn Xinjiang, people have to wear warm in the morning. At noon, people wear shirt and skirt. People wear warm and eat watermelons around the furnace(炉子) at night.Step 6 Homework1. Read lets talk for five times.2. Writing My last weekend. Please write about what you did last weekend.
