Could you please clean your room? Teaching aims:1. Knowledge and skills:a) Be able to undersand peoples opinion about teenagers should help do chores at home.b) Develop students listening and speaking skills. 2. Process and method: Do some listening and speaking practice.3. Moral object: Lead the students to know that they should or shouldnt help their parents do chores.Teaching key points: be able to understand the letters about Ms.Miller and Mr.Smiths opinion.Teaching difficult points: train students listening and speaking skills.Teaching aids: A projector Teaching procedures: Step 1 Lead in (revision)Show some pictures about others doing chores, let students to tell what chores they are doing. Then ask some students, Do you often help your parents do chores at home? Ask a few students about this,some of them say yes ,and one of them say no.then teacher do a survey about teenagers should help their parents do chores at home. If you do, please put up your hands. The survey shows that most of students agree,a few of students disagree.Step 2 Presentation1. Teach words T:With this problem,The Sunday magazine invited some parents to talk about this problem.”Let students know what they should do in this part. Say, Have a quick look at the two letters. Circle the new words that you dont know. You can find the main idea without reading each word, its a good idea to read the first sentence a little more carefully.2. Teach phrasesThis activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.Point out the passage, ask students to read it. Then underline their phrases that they dont know. Give them some minutes, and then ask some students to present their phrases in front of class.Step 3 Practice1.Read the letters. Say, listen to the letters from Ms.Miller and Mr.Smith. Please listen what they talked about. 2.Play the recording for twice. 3.This activity gives students practice in understanding and writing the target language. Say, this time you have to write what the two people talk about. 4.Play the recording again.Ask who agree and who disagree. Let students finish this part. Then correct the answers.5.Write down the reason that why they agree or disagree on the blackboard.Step 4 ConsolidationThis activity provides guided oral practice using the target language. Tell students they will work in group. First, one student ask for help to do chores. He or she can answer it with the sentences that we have learnd in the letters. After a few minutes, ask several group to speak out questions and answers to the class.
