Citation Meredith A R Luc G P A Lauren Couture 2013 Determinants of coach motivation and autonomy supportive coaching behaviours Psychology of Sport and Exercise 14 852 859 Objective The present investigation was aimed at expanding upon the existing study by identifying additional factors within the coaching environment that are related to autonomy supportive coaching behaviour and try to exploring the role of coach motivation in the relationship of coach athlete dyads These present study are based on the existing literature and obtained a profound development Methods In the study it was anticipated that the final model developed by Pelletier et al 2002 would provide the best explanation of the interaction of factors in a coaching context The participants in the sample was composed of 303 youth sport developmental basketball coaches women n 32 men n 263 not specified n 8 whom average age was 45 38 and the majority had an undergraduate degree They completed the measure through the questionnaire on the internet and the measure include four factors in the model 1 pressure from below 2 pressure from above 3 coach motivation and 4 autonomy support Results and Findings According to the investigation datum can be obtained that the validated model is appropriate for explaining autonomy supportive behaviours in coaching contexts And it was found there is a link between environmental factors and coacher likelihood of engaging in autonomy supportive coaching behaviours increasing the understanding of the factors that influence coaches will not only have positive benifits for coacher but for athletes too Learning Promotion Learning from this article I learned the coaches motivation comes from two dimensions specifically one is pressure from above that speaks to administrative or peer pressure that may be exerted on the coach And another pressure from below concerns the coaches perceptions of their athletes motivation for participating in sport Simultaneously i understand that if promote the level of the coach motivation the autonomy supportive coaching behaviours can also get a boost and the atheles performance will be greatly enhance It will help me to regulate myself in coaching process Summary 7 Citation Anthony B Ester C Peter R Sue H 2010 The effects of training on performance and performance related states in individual elite athletes A dynamic approach Journal of Sports Sciences 28 10 1117 1126 Objective The aim of this paper was to provide an example of the application of dynamic linear models to analyse data from idiographic naturalistic studies examining the relationships between training components and performance related states of an elite triathlete Methods The authors used data gathered from an elite international female triathlete age 20 3years stature 1 68m mass56kg They selected the most objective available measure for each training mode and it is also dependable to the triathlete s coach The data were collected by the triathlete for 111 consecutive days In another observation point the data of the athlete s potential performance related states were collected using the 76 item Recovery Stress Questionnaire for Athletes RESTQ Sport There are 27 questionnaires were finished across at most of 32 assessment periods Results and Findings Firstly with other statistical models in contrast the dynamic linear models can assess the temporal stability of training effects and describe their temporal patterns Through the real data research the final dynamic linear model with time varying level and running load components could illustration the observed fluctuations in fatigue frequency What s more time varying elements provided a better fit to the data Then the model validated have additional strengths of time series models Finally the model allow the inclusion of a monitoring scheme to identify salient changes in regression parameters and also could easily fit the changes through modifications to the variance of the relevant regression parameters Learning Promotion By reading this article first of all I learned a certain knowledge of training performance And the establishment of a dynamic model to help athletes who to overcome fatigue and it also can boost athletes excess resume level Lastly it is important to note that although this study is not correlation with motivation and self regulated learning it provides a favorable theoretical support for my topic Summary 8 Citation Nicolas G Robert J V Sofiane A Brice B 2010 Influence of coaches autonomy support on athletes motivation and sport performance A test of the hierarchical model of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation Psychology of Sport and exercise 11 155 161 Objective The purpose of this article was to propose and test a model that posited that coaches autonomy support of their athletes positively related to their self determined motivation toward judo And self determined motivation boosts athletes situational self determined motivation before a match that in turn it can predicts their sport performance Methods The sample were 101 French judokas mean age 18 47 that include 32 females and 69 males and they all assemble for a national judo tournament involving 250 athletes The athletes was voluntary and completed three questionnaires that were executed one to two hours before the beginning of the competition Results and Findings First the athletes situational self determined motivation had a positive influence on their performance that it is the more the athletes displayed self determined situational motivation in the competition the better their performances were Second the present study provided support for the HMIEM Finally it is also provide support for the top down effect between motivation at the contextual and situational levels Learning Promotion Leaning from this article i can kown more about the relationship between coaches autonomy support and athletes motivation and sport performance is inseparable The study will deepen my impression of the psychological processes through which coachers autonomy support influences self determined motivation and sport performance Summary 9 Citation Gerry J G George M De Marco Jr 2008 Self assessment and modification of a division I strength and conditioning coach s instructional behavior Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research 22 4 1228 1235 Objective The present investigation was aimed at determining the effectiveness of self assessment in the modification of a Division I strength and conditioning coach s instructional behaviour This study was the first time to use the SAFI Self Assessment Feedback Instrument and expect to modify and improve the instructional behaviors of strength and conditioning coaches Methods Participants were the coach and 16members of the university s women s volleyball team were the subjects The Analysis of experimental data came from the Self Assessment Feedback Instrument and the coach s personal journal The research included 12 practices that divided into 3 phases and each phase consisted of 4 videotaped practices Quantitative and qualitative research method in the article reflect incisively and vividly Results and Findings Builded upon the whole analysis of datum collected from the SAFI and coach s personal journal it was confirmed that the process of self assessment was effective in improving the coach s behaviour to more approximate reflect that seen in present study on successful and effective coaches Modified all behaviors by coach were targeted for change and experienced a heightened self awareness of the coaching behaviour Learning Promotion The present study has more and more effectiveness because coaches do not have time to focus on the quality or quantity of their actual training The article told us that we should keep more attention on self assessment and modification in reality instruction if we want to be a high efficiency and profession coach Summary 10 Citation Juliette Stebbings Ian M Taylor Christopher M Spray 2011 Antecedents of perceived coach autonomy supportive and controlling behaviors coach psychological need satisfaction and well being Journal of Sport Exercise Psychology 33 255 272 Objective The aim of the present study was to validate a model of potential antecedents of perceived coach autonomy supportive and controlling behaviors on various athletes motivation and performance utilizing the SDT Deci Ryan 2000 Methods The sample were 443 coaches who contains of 313 male and 130 female with the mean age of 41 06 years Participants include recreational club regional national and international or professional who were reported from 34 individual and team The sample who agreed to take part in then completed a polyelement and self report questionnaire that took about 15 min to finish Results and Findings At first the data of the current study deduced that satisfaction of coaches basic psyc
