Review the present progressive tense: be+V-ing. II. Emotion attitude and values objectives:i. Teach students how to observe the weather and adjust their emotions.ii. Help students know the weather conditions around the world and increase the sense of the world.Teaching important points and teaching difficult pointsI. Teaching important points:i. The vocabulary and useful expressions. ii. Key sentence structure:Hows the weather in Shanghai? Its windy. Whats the weather like there? Its raining/ snowing. II. Teaching difficult points:i. Use the target language to ask and answer the weather.ii. Can use the present progressive tense skillfully and correctly.Teaching aids: power point, blackboard, chalksTeaching procedures:. Warming-up and Lead in i. Greetings. ii. Lead in the new lesson by talking about ones different emotions in different weather. . Presentation i. Show some pictures of the weather on the power point. ii. Students learn the new words and expressions with the help of the pictures. iii. Let students look at the pictures and ask them how the weather is; lead to the efficient study of the key sentence patterns with the help of studying among the teachers and students.iv. Guide students to learn some weather report signs. III. Practicei. Come to activity 1a in textbook. Explain the instructions to the students first, and then give them 30s to complete 1a.ii. Check the answers.iii. Give some information on the screen, and then give students 2mins to practice the conversations according to the key sentence patterns above.iv. Ask some groups to present their conversations before the class.v. Give comments on their performance.IV. Production: Listening practicei. Explain the instructions to the students.ii. Help students to know where the five cities are and the guide them to read the cities.iii. Play the tape for the first time; the students only listen.iv.
