Go for it Grade Eight II Unit4 Why dont you talk to your parents? Section A (1a-1c) By Fan HaiyanPart One Analysis of the Teaching Material 一. Status and Function Section A (1a-1c) is talking about Interpersonal communication. This lesson is focused on the topic of problems and giving advice. To attain “four skills” request of listening、speaking、reading、writing.Such a topic is related to daily life. So it is helpful to raise learning interests of students and it will be also helpful to improve the students communicative ability. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material. 二.Analysis of the Students The students have learned English for about one and a half years so far. They can understand some words and the sentences patterns, the four skills have improved a lot. The students have taken a great interest in English now. 三.Teaching Aims and Demands The teaching aims basis is established according to Junior School English syllabus provision. 1.Knowledge objects (1)Enable the students to remember the following new words and phrases: allow, wrong, Whats wrong? midnight etc. (2)To make the students know how to use talk about problems and give advice: Why dont you.? (3)To finish some exercises. 2.Ability objects (1)To develop the students abilities of listening、speaking、reading and writing. (2)To train the students abilities of working in pairs. (3)To develop the students abilities of communication by learning the useful structures. (4)Train them with some effective learning methods to optimize students learning results. 3.Moral objects (1)Arouse the students interest in learning English. (2)To enable the students to talk about the statements and responses. 四.Teaching Key and Difficult Points The teaching key and difficult points basis is established according to Section A of Unit5 in the teaching materials position and function. 1.Key Points: a. New words and phrases. b.Sentence pattern: Why dont you .? 2.Difficult Points: a. Function item: Talk about problems and give advice. b. Develop the students communicative ability, act out their own dialogues. 五.Teaching AidsMulti-media computer, Tape recorder, software, PowerPoint, school things and so on.Part Two The Teaching Methods Communicative teaching method, Audio-visual teaching method, Task-basked teaching method.Part Three The Studying Methods Teach the students how ti be successful language learners; teach the students how to develop the listening skill, master dialogue and how to communicate with.Part Four Teaching Procedures Step 1. Leading in (5mins) 1.Greeting. 2.Show some pictures to the students and ask them: What do they like to do after school ? Why or why not ? Step 2. Presentation (5mins) 1.According to the students answers. Lead to the problems of the students. 2. Learn the new words. Step 3. 1a (5mins) 1. Do 1a and ask students why or why not. 2. Ask the students to make the dialogues with the problems. Step 4. Listening (10mins) 1. Play the tape for the students to listen to it. 2. Finish 1b and check the answers. Step 5. Practice (5
