Is Tom smarter than Sam? Lisa sings more clearly than Tara三、教学过程. Lead-in 1. Section A 1a Ask Ss to write down as many adj and adv about people as possible. Check the answers Ss write and we can group them into some pairs, like:tall - short; thin - heavy, long hair - short hair,quietly-loudly old-youngGive Ss an example by comparing I and Li Xinyuee.g. Im taller than Li Xinyue Li Xinyue has longer hair than meLi Xinyue is younger than me. Im heavier than Li Xinyue. Presentation Ask Ss to compare with their partners and find out the differences. e.g. She is heavier than me. I am more outgoing than her. She gets up earlier than me. I run faster than her. . . Listening Section A 1b listen to the recording. Ask Ss to number the twins. Check the answers. To help students recognize the target language in natural speech. . Pair work Section A 1c Point out the sample conversation in activity 1c.Talk about the others in class. The been learning to talk about others in class.1. Have students work in pairs2. The pair of students should stand and look at the others students around the class3. Students should talk about others.Eg A、thats Jane isnt it?B、Who are you talking about?A、The girl wearing the blue shirt.B、No ,thats not Jane. Thats Nina. Nina is taller than JaneA、Oh,and Ninas hair is longer than JaneB、Yes she is.Say, now work with a partner. Make your own conversations about the twins.Ask several pairs to say one or more of their conversations. . Listening 一、. Work on 2a: After students have listend to the recording and completed the chart,the teacher may want to have pairs of students make flashcards 1、 On one side of each card ,Ss should be instructed to write one of the words in the box in the textbook.2、 On the other side of the card , Ss should be instructed to write er /ier or more version of the word3、 After the flashcards of each pair have been completed ,the T may to have Ss complete to be the first pair to go through the flashcards (one of the Ss in a pair holds up each of the flashcards ,one at a time ,and the other S responds with the er/-ier or more version of each word .Ss then change roles and repeat the activity) The first pair of Ss to correctly finish is winner.Point out the two columns and read the headings: -er, -ier and more. Then point out the words in the box. Read them.Say, now listen and write the er and ier words in the first column and the words that use more in the second column. Play the recording and check the answers.二、. Work on 2b.To give Ss practice in listening for specific items in conversations listen for the verbs in order to make the activity easier for the Ss ,before having Ss do activity 2b,the teacher may want to write the sentences below on the board ,have Ss listen to the recording ,and complete the sentences.Point out the picture and the two boxes with the headings Tina is and Tara is.Say, listen to the recording. Write word in the boxes. The words are from the list in activity 2a. Play the recording and check the answers. Pair work 1. Point out the chart in activity 2c. Say, Make your own conversations according to the information. Ask pairs to continue on their own.2. Ss practice their conversations.3. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. . Role-play 1. Read the conversation first and try to match the people with the right things.a. sang betterb. with shorter hairc. practice more and really wanted to wind. sang more clearlye. danced better2. Let Ss read the conversations after the teacher.3. Let Ss practice the conversation.4. Then let some pairs act out their conversations in front of the class. Homework: Write six sentences: Write about the things that are the same and different between you and your best friend.教学反思本次教学设计是以训练学生英语思维、培养学生语言交际能力为中心的教学过程。兼顾了听、说、读、写全面发展的教学原则。首先,同学们先用形容词或副词形容人的外貌和性格特征,以我和我班李欣悦同学作比较,是学生更直观的比较我们的外貌特征,之后比较我们谁更高(等)。引入形容词的比较级。让学生从身边发现形容词的比较级其实就出现
