They also have the abilities of self-teaching and working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English.2. Analysis of Teaching ContentLesson 17 is the fifth lesson in Unit 3, Book 5.This unit focus on the subject safety. Students cares about the subject because it is close to everyone. Lesson 17 mainly talks about the earthquake, and teach students what should we do when the accidents come. 教学目标【知识目标】To learn some words and phrases about safety tips during and after the earthquake. Such as: calm, system, object, survival, protect from (doing)and so on. And go on learning the imperative sentences.【能力目标】To give warnings with imperatives.【情感目标】To know how to behave during and after the earthquake and keep safe.【教学重点】Vocabulary: calm, systerm, object, survival,Phrases: stay calm, protect from (doing), pull over, bring down, keep an eye out for.【教学难点】To give warnings with right forms of imperatives. 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程Step 1. Warm-upFree talk: 1. Show some pictures of signs, and ask question: What kind of signs do you know?Step 2. Presentation1. Show the pictures and ask students what happened to elicit the word “Earthquake”.2. Have you ever experienced an earthquake? 3. What is the first thing you should do when an earthquake happens?4. Explain the new words.5. Read the lesson and match the sentences on page 43.6.
