Student analysisThe students are from Grade 7. They have already learnt English for more than four years. Most of them can express their own ideas in English quite clearly, and they are interested in reading some articles as well. However,writing is a difficult and boring task for them in English learning.Teaching important and difficult pointsHelp students to memorize the important standards of Basic WritingTeaching methodVideo-leading, discussion, comparison, simple-difficult points Teaching AidcomputerTeaching Procedures: Step 1 Lead-in1) .Watch a video about “Lets take a trip.” And then ask them to retell “What vehicles (交通工具) are mentioned in the video?”2) Talk about questions below: How do you go to school? What about the students in the small village?What are the most important ways for you to go to school? And why do you choose this way? How far is from your home to school? How long does it take you to school? Most of us would like to prefer “walk, ride a bike or take a bus.” as our way to go to school. But look at the picture, these students go on rope way to go to school. Step2. Structure of writing Ask students to read aloud the passage in section B 2b, then lets analysis the structure of passage.List out the structure of the passage.Let us analysis the passage,from reading it ,we found it divided three parts. The first part is about “How do you get to school?”, (It is beginning.)the second part is about “ many students how to go to school,and some students in small village in china how to go to school.” (It is body.) The last part is about their dream.(It is ending.) And then ask them to find the supporting sentences. At last, tell them “This is outline.” Tell students the writing strategy: it is useful to make an outline before writing.And then ask then to retell the passage with the outline.Step3 Practice (3a)show the students the article and ask them to read it, then fill the blank. When they finish it,I will ask them to find the good sentences and tell us why you think they are good sentences. And examples of different sentences and teach them which is better and which is best through comparison.ask the students to write an outline through the article, you can talk about with your partner. After several minutes, I will ask some students to write the outline on the blackboard. Step 4 Practice (3b): use the outline to write an article1. Writing: write an e-mail to Tom and tell him how you get to school.2. Write the outline together. And then ask them to write some supporting sentences.3. Then write the article with the outline. And tell them the writing suggestions:While you are making an outline, write down some verbs and phrasal verbs you will use in your composition;While you are writing the composition, use some linking words correctly to make it more fluent.Step 5 Performance Students time to show what they have written down and finally show them the possible version prepared before hand.
