4BM4U1SportsTheme:A music classTopic:the piper of HamelinPeriod:1st PeriodTeaching Aims:(I) Language Aims: Get to know the new words and phrases: trap, pipe, piper, be full of, in return, go into, away from and try to understand the meaning of them. Using verb phrases to indicate ability. e.g. play the pipe(II) Ability Aims: Develop the skills of finding relevant information from the text. Develop the skills of using short paragraphs to output.(III) Emotion Aim:Motivate students interests in learning English.Difficulties:1 Using short paragraphs to output.2 Getting information from text by listening and reading.Texts:Main text:Hamelin is a wonderful city. Gardens there are beautiful. Houses there are clean. People there are happy. The gardens are full of nice flowers. The farms are full of lovely animals. The schools are full of happy children. The city is full of laughs.But one day, people there are not happy any more. Because the city is full of mice. The mice bite the flowers. They bite the animals. And they bite the children. People are very afraid and worried. They need help.A man comes to help the people of Hamelin. He can play the pipe. He is a piper. He needs a pipe and he wants one bag of gold in return.The man plays beautiful music. The music goes into the schools. It goes into the houses. It goes into the gardens. When the mice hear the music, they stop biting. They follow the music behind the man. They walk away from the schools. They walk away from the houses. They walk away from the gardens. They walk away from the city.Now there arent any mice in the city. The people of Hamelin feel happy. But they dont want to give the piper his gold. The piper feels angry. He plays beautiful music again. The music goes into the schools. It goes into the houses. It goes into the gardens. When the children hear the music, they follow the music behind the man. They walk away from the schools. They walk away from the houses. They walk away from the gardens. They walk away from the city.The people of Hamelin are afraid and worried. And they feel ashamed too. They give the piper his gold and the children go back home. The city is full of laughs again.Support Text: A woman comes, she is a teacher. She says, I can help. I need some cats.
