The students can get the general ideas of the story by listening.2.To improve the students listening and speaking abilities. 3. To train the students ability of retelling the story.Emotional aims: You can never know whats possible unless you try to make it happen.教学重难点Teaching important points: How to retell a story and how to use the conjunctions.Teaching difficult points: How to make the familiar Chinese story in English.教学准备Teaching aids: CAI , a recorder教学过程设计Step 1 warming up1. Show some pictures of the Chinese story.2. 1a. Students enjoy the pictures and say the names of the four pictures in 1a. Have you heard of the story called Yu Gong Moves a Mountain? Who can tell us about the story? Today we are going to talk about the story in English.环节说明:由故事导入引起学生学习愚公移山的故事的欲望。Step 2 Presentation & talk1. Show on the screen some pictures about Yu Gong and play the song “愚公移山”.Students talk something about Yu Gong and then enjoy the song.Eg. Yu Gong was born in the Western Zhou Dynasty.2. The reason why Yu Gong wanted to move the mountains was that there were two big mountains near his house and they were so big and high that it took a long time to walk to the other side.Step 3 Listening (1b)1. Get the students to listen and check the facts they hear.2. Listen again and check the answer.Step 4 Pair work (1c) 1. Read the questions in the box in 1c. 2. Ss discuss the questions with their partners. 3. Let some pairs ask and answer the questions. e.g. A: How does the story happen? B: There were two very tall mountains in front of their house. A: What happened next?B: A very old man tried to move the mountains. A: Where would they put all the earth and stone from the mountains? B: They would put them into the sea. Step 5 Listening1 Work on 2a: T: Lets continue to listen to the story. 1. Look at the pictures in 2a. Discuss the things they are going to do. When you listen to the story, please number the pictures. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the pictures. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers. Work on 2b: 1. Let Ss read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences for the Ss. Make sure they know what to do. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to circle the correct words in the brackets. 1) A man saw Yu Gong and his (children / family) when they were working on moving the mountains.2) He told Yu Gong he could never do it because he was old and (poor / weak).3) As soon as the man finished (talking /speaking), Yu Gong said that his family could continue to move the mountains after he died.4) Finally, a god was so moved by Yu Gong that he sent (two / three) gods to take the mountains away.5) This story reminds us that you can never (know / see) whats possible unless you try to make it happen. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers. .Step 6 Activity 2c1. Get students to retell the story of Yu Gong according to the information in 2b.Students should use the conjunctions like: as soon as.2. Ask several students to retell the story of Yu Gong Moves the Mountains in their own words.Step 7 HomeworkRetell the story of “Yu Gong Moves a Mountain”.板书设计Unit 6 An old man tried to move the mountains.Period 1 Section A (1a-2c)shoot keep doing sthdig continue to do sth.stone as soon asunless. never give uponce upon a timeThe story reminds us that you can never know whats possible unless you try to make it happen.教学反思; 本课时主要是锻炼学生听说故事的能力 学习愚公,要学习他“主动挖山”的精神。在我们生活工作中存在着很多的“山”。在这些山的面前我们应该采取怎样的态度对待它?是通过“搬家”来避开它或找领导请求帮助;还是像愚公一样明知困难却迎难而上,凭借自己的力量勇敢的克服困难。愚公不畏艰险,不怕困难,勇敢面对的精神,正是值得我们所学习的。通过这节课的学习,加强了学生间的互动,让学生在实际运用中体会到学习英语的快乐。本课时是一节听说课,围绕传说和故事这一话题通过学生听说练习提升学生的听说技能。本课的亮点如下: 1. 在本课的导入部分我通过多媒体展示了部分神话故事的视频,通过声音,图像生动的结合充分调动学生的学习主动性及积极性,注意运用图片来练习听说,一方面学生有话可说,另一方面,在听力时,学生能很快地把握主要内容理解故事。 2. 注意保护学生的学习积极性和主动参与的热情,借助结对练习、小组讨论、角色表演等教学环节,最大限度地调动、吸引学生的注意力,营造宽松,愉悦的学习气氛。这样突出以教师旨在导学,学生为主体,不断创设情境让学生参
