Unit 4 After-school activitiesLesson 19 A dinner date 教材分析This unit is about the after-school activities, it shows us us how many kinds of after-school activities the students have and the advantages or disadvantages they are. 教学目标【知识与能力目标】l Knowledge Section:(1) Master the following words:activity, volleyball, practice, chess, club, both, nothing(2) Common phrases:do well in, come over【过程与方法目标】Continue to build up the ability in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating, especially enable the students to make sentences in English about their plans.【情感态度价值观目标】Get students to know how to express their plan correctly. 教学重难点【教学重点】Vocabulary and patterns in this lesson【教学难点】be going to 课前准备 Multimedia, radio-tape 教学过程Step I Class Opening (5 minutes)1. GreetingT: Good morning, class! How are you today?Ss: Good morning, Miss An! Fine, thank you. And you?T: Im fine, too.2. Free TalkT: Whats the date today?S1:Its April 7th.T: What day is it today?S2: Its Monday.T: Look out of the window. Whats the weather like today?S3: Its sunny.设计思路:使用亲切、贴近生活的问候语言拉近师生关系,带学生自然进入英语氛围。Step II New Concepts (20 minutes)1. Lead-inSing a song: I like to play outdoors.Ask and Answer:T: What activities do you usually do after school? (The teacher presents the pictures to help students to answer the question.)T: What are you going to do after school?S1: Im going to watch TV.S2: Im going to play basketball.The teacher writes “be going to ” on the blackboard, and lets students answer the questions with the help of pictures on the PPT. Help students to know how to use “be going to”.2. New wordsT: Before we know about what happens to Jim, lets learn some new words.The teacher lets students read the new words and give them time to recite.3. Listen and answerT: Jim wants to invite Steven to have a dinner at his home, so he asks Steven some question about his plans after school. Now listen and fill in the blanks.4. Future study of the textT: Read the text by yourselves, please, and try to finish Exercise 2 on Page 51. Then get the information about Stevens calendar. Ask for help if necessary.5. Language pointsT: There are two sentences. Can you tell me the ways to use practice?Ss:作名词,意为“练习”,常用作不可数名词。作动词,意为“练习”,后跟名词或动词-ing形式。Step III Group Work (5 minutes)Work in pairs.
