Unit 9 Have you ever been to an amusement park Period 1Part1: Analysis of studentsThe students are in grade eight. It is a very important period for them and they are not mature enough. We should lead them in a positive way. Then arouse their interests in learning English is essential. We can attract their attention through showing things that they are interested in. At the same time, it is very important to teach them learning strategy.Part 2: Analysis of teaching material Its the first period of this unit. Topics are mainly about fun places. Students have learnt something about the present perfect tense, they will know more about it and theyll know how to talk about past experiences after study. At the same time, their ability of working in a group and speaking skill will be enhanced.Part 3: Teaching goals:Knowledge objects: 1. Help students to know new words. Such as neither, especially, wonderful2. Use sentence pattern “have been to“ to talk about places they have been to. Ability objects:1. To develop students ability of listening and speaking.2. To train students ability of working in a group.Part4: Teaching strategies1. Teaching Method: Task-based language teaching. such as pair work,game, survey.理论依据:learning by doing ,即在做中学的思想。2Teaching Aids: Multi-media Make use of computers to make animation, make good use of internet resources, expanding students scope of knowledgePart 5 Teaching procedures:Step 1 RevisionRevision the target language in unit 8“What should I get my mom?” “How about a CD”目的:复习第八单元的目标语言,引出新课Step 2 warming-up activityPlay a game with students. Showing some pictures of tourist resort and ask students to guess where the places is then ask them whether they have been to these places.目的:通过游戏活跃课堂气氛,并为本课的开展做热身准备Step 3 learning the new wordsIn order to help students to memorize and understand new words, Ill make use of pictures and table to show pronunciation and property. For different meanings of each word, Ill give students several Chinese sentences and ask them translate into English.目的:使枯燥的单词学习充满趣味性,促进学生的记忆和理解。Step4 make a surveyMake a form ask students to fill. The form is about some funny places on P68. To see which places they have been to and where they like most to visit.Step 5 listening comprehension目的:引入并操练本课的目标语言并训练学生的听力,同时为下一个任务做准备Step6 presentationUse some pictures about the amusement park to introduce the target language “have you ever been to an amusement park”目的:通过一些有趣的图片吸引学生的注意力,使其产生学习动机和兴趣。Step7 pair work1. Point to the map and tell students they can talk about any of the places on the map.2. Ask students to work in pairs.3. Ask several pairs of students to act their conversations to the class.目的:巩固目标语言的同时,加强学生合作学习以及与人沟通交流的能力Step 8 Homework This lesson is the first period of this unit. It is prepare for the next study. Ill ask students to finish homework as follows:1. Review and memorize the new words in this unit and dictate the next day(及时复习单词利于记忆,同时为后面的学习做准备)2. Ask students to talk about the places where they have been to after class.(巩固目标语言并加强学生用英语交流的能力)3. Preview a new lesson and mark where they have questions.(预习课文,便于接下来的教学与学习)Part 6 Blackboard designThis part runs through the whole teaching procedure.
