Unit 3. Could you please clean your room?教学内容分析:本课的阅读内容来自Ms. Miller和Mr. Smith的两封信。他们就孩子们该不该做家务发表了各自的看法。在阅读中,学生能运用Skimming快速找出段落大意;利用思维导图了解文章框架结构。读后,学生能就此话题表达自己的看法。教学目标:At the end of this class, the students will be able to:1. Students express their own opinions on a certain topic.教学用具:Multimedia, blackboard教学过程:环节活动设计意图Step 1.Before Reading1. Greetings;2. Lead in.读前活动是为了与学生拉近距离,同时导出本课主题学生该不该做家务。Step 2.While Reading1. Skim the letters to get their main ideas.2. Read the letters again, try to finish the mind map.3. Read the letters carefully, work in groups to solve the difficult Sentences.4. Have the debate competition.5. Talk about what we can do for our parents.阅读主体由三部分构成粗读、理解文章结构以及细读。第一遍粗读,是为了帮助学生学会迅速了解段落大意的方法;第二遍了解文章结构,让学生理解作者写作思路,为下节课的写作做好铺垫;第三遍的细读,则要求学生熟悉全文内容,找出重点句以及难点句,并以小组为单位进行难点解答;左最后通过一个游戏比拼来验收孩子自主学习的情况。Step 3.After Reading1. Lead in. “Good morning, boys and girls. These days, weve learned some chores we could do at home. So I will flash some pictures, and you tell me what chores they are.” Flash the pictures about “do the dishes”,”take out the rubbish”, “fold your clothes” “sweep the floor”,”make your bed”, “clean the living room”. Its amazing of you remembering all of them! But I really wonder of you like doing chores at home. Do you like doing chores at home? (Yes) Im glad to hear that. But a girl Cathy has her problem about doing chores. She sent me a message. (No) Just like you, a girl from our class doesnt like to do chores. But she has a problem, then she sent me a message.Step 2.While Reading阅读主体由三部分构成粗读、理解文章结构以及复述。第一遍粗读,是为了帮助学生学会迅速了解段落大意的方法;第二遍了解文章结构,让学生理解作者写作思路,为下节课的写作做好铺垫;第三遍的复述,则要求学生熟悉全文内容;最后通过一个游戏比拼来验收孩子对全文的掌握情况。4. Skim the letters to get their main ideas.What should she do? To solve her problem, I also asked the parents from our class if students should do chores. And I got two letters. One is from Ms. Miller, the other comes from Mr. Smith. Do they think if kids should do chores? Lets read their letters quickly, and find out their opinions. Pay attention, you have only 40 seconds. How can we get the main idea in such a short time? Maybe we could use the reading strategy Skimming. It means looking through a piece of writing quickly to find out the main idea without reading every word. But its always a good idea to read the first sentence more carefully in each paragraph. (students answer)5. Read the letters again, try to finish the mind map. Good job! But to get more details of these 2 letters, we have to read them again. This time, we are supposed to read them more carefully, and try to understand why these parents agree or dont agree kids should do chores. You are going to find out their reasons, OK?Group A, you finish the mind map of Ms. Millers letter. Group B, Mr. Smiths mind map is your job. Youll have 5 minutes to finish your task. Tell me you are ready. Here we go!You have run out of your time! We know that Ms. Miller doesnt agree that young people should do chores. Why? Group A, tell me!Group B, what are Mr. Smiths reasons?3. Retell the lettersCongratulations! Both Group A and B have finished your maps. But if I erase the information, can you retell the content? As usual, Group A, you retell the first map, you will start it like this “Ms. Miller doesnt agree kids should do chores, because.” while Group B, you do the second one, your beginning should be as “Mr. Smith believes kids should do chores, he has reasons.”Step 3.
