Language points1.stop的用法stop作动词,意为“(使)停止”。常用搭配有:stop doing sth.和stop to do sth.。stop doing sth.意为“停止做某事”,即停止正在做的事。而stop to do sth.意为“停下来去做(另一件事)”。e.g.:Hearing the doorbell,she stopped washing the dishes.听见门铃声,她停止洗碗了。 Hearing the doorbell, she stopped to open the door. 听见门铃声,她停下手中的活去开门。2.gold与golden的用法gold作“黄金;金子”讲时,为不可数名词,侧重指材料。而golden作“金色的”讲时,是形容词,指镀金的或金色的,侧重指颜色。e.g.:The Olympic winner received a gold medal as an award.奥林匹克的优胜者获得一枚金质奖章作为奖赏。Her golden hair is so beautiful.她的金发是如此美丽。3.cheat的用法cheat作及物动词,意为“欺骗;蒙骗”,其宾语常常是人。常用搭配有:cheat sb.
