四川长宁县2020高考英语(一轮)阅读理解专题练习2020高考训练题。阅读理解。阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。People believed for a long time that the heart was the center of a persons emotions. That is why the word heart is used in so many expressions about emotional situations. One such expression is to lose your heart to someone. When that happens, you have fallen in love. But if the person who won your heart does not love you, then you are sure to have a broken heart. In your pain and sadness, you may decide that the person you loved is hard-hearted, and in fact, has a heart of stone. You may decide to pour out your heart to a friend. Telling someone about your personal problems can often make you feel better. If your friend does not seem to understand how painful your broken heart is, you may ask her to have a heart. You are asking your friend to show some sympathy for your situation. Your friend has her heart in the right place if she says she is sorry, and shows great concern for how you feel.Your friend may, however, warn you not to wear your heart on your sleeve. In other words, do not let everyone see how lovesick you are. When your heart is on your sleeve you are showing your deepest emotions. If your friend says my heart bleeds for you, she means the opposite. She is a cold-hearted person who does not really care about your situation. In the ever-popular motion picture, The Wizard of Oz,(绿野仙踪) the Tin Man seeks a heart. He wanted to feel the emotion of love, and was seeking help from the powerful Wizard of Oz to find a heart. The Cowardly Lion, in the same movie, did “have a heart”. But he lacked courage and wanted to ask the Wizard of Oz to give him some. You could say that the cowardly lion was chicken-hearted. That is another way of describing someone who is not very brave. A chicken is not noted for its bravery. Thus, someone who is chicken-hearted does not have much courage. When you are frightened or concerned, your heart is in your mouth. You might say, for example, that your heart was in your mouth when you asked a bank to lend you some money to pay for a new house.1What is the main idea of the passage?AThe heart was the center of a persons emotions.BThere are many expressions about heart and what do they mean.CWe should learn some expressions about “heart”.DIt is important to learn some expressions about “heart”2How many expressions about “Heart” are mentioned in the passage?A.10 B.8 C.9 D.113If you hear one of your family members is hurt in a traffic accident, you will feel _.A.heart is in your mouth. With my wages, theres not much left on a Tuesday. I hope the 5 was useful to you . I have informed the social security office so you wont be able to cash the child benefit next week. I hope that wont leave you too short. But if you really need a couple of pounds, I suppose you could always cash one of the two checks left in my check book. Of course, I phoned the bank right away and the check-casing card is no longer valid, so it wont be much use to you.Actually I dont mind about the money too much. We single parents who work to support our families understand only too well what it means to be short of cash. However, I dont suppose it went very far among the three of you. Sorry about that!I wish you had left the bag behind and just taken the wallet and check book. There were all kinds of papers in it, and notes and things that I really need. I really think that was very inconsiderate of you. I mean, how would you like something like that to happen to you?Well, perhaps the bag will turn up. It wasnt even an expensive one, just a plain, old brown leather shoulder bag. You probably dumped it in the nearest rubbish bin or threw it into the bushes. Weve looked around, of course, but no one saw which way you went after you left the shop.Im not really angry with you. I know how the pressures of modern living can affect us, but I am sad at the loss of my personal things. I feel violated and helpless. The police were very icy, and they just shrugged their shoulders. “It happens all the time,” they told me. Some small comfort, I suppose. But Ive lost just a little more faith in human natureAnd as my young son said when I told him what had happened, “Why? Mummy, why us?” I couldnt answer that question. I wonder if you can.1. This is an activity aimed at making more effective use of resources by providing a platform for people to exchange free of charge those fashion items in their closets that they dont use anymore. In London, fashion swap events sponsored by the credit card company VISA focus on the swapping of specific brands. Japans first major fashion swap event, “xChange,” was held in September 2020 in Tokyo. The xChange event is designed to exchange not only fishing items but also information and feelings from the owners of the clothes, using what is called an “episode tag.” Participants put tags on each of the items they bring and write their name and a bride episode about the items. For example, a tag of a white jacket read, “This is a gift from a friend, but its just not my style.” On a tag attached to a pair of red shoes, a person wrote. “These dont fit me anymore. I hope someone who loves red can use them.” Just as shoppers check price tags, some people check the episode tags before making a selection, imagining who used to wear the item. The episode tags make people aware of the human connection by exchanging goods. Many participants say things like, “Im very lucky to get such lovely clothes for free,” and “I was happy to see someone try on and choose what I brought here.” Unwanted clothes for one person can be new and exciting for someone else. Besides, xChange achieves close to a 100-percent reuse rate by donating leftover clothes to companies that reuse or recycle secondhand clothing. Anything they cannot use, they then donate to developing countries or reuse them as rags.Since 2020, the xChange event has been held every two or three months in a different region of Japan, always attracting many participants. This success is probably because it is an active event that gives participants opportunities to enjoy fashion without increasing the impact on the environment.1. Whats the main purpose of the fashion exchange?A. To attract peoples attention. B. To make good use of resources.C. To get rid of unwanted clothes. D. To try to avoid buying new clothes.答案解析:答案为B。 本题为细节题。由第一段第二句话 “This is an activity aimed at making more effective use of resources by”可知,答案为B。2. What is special about an episode tag?A. Which of the following can be the best title of the passage?A. Fashion Exchange Concept Grows in Japan.B. xChange Environment Meets the Fashion Industry.C. The Global Rise of the Fashion Exchange.D. Join in xChange.答案解析:答案为A。本题为主旨大意题。由第二段 “Japans first major fashion swap event, xChange, was held in September 2020 in Tokyo.” 可知,第一届Fashion Exchange2020年在日本东京举办,后文对其进行了介绍,最后一段呼应文章的中心 “Since 2020, the xChange event has been held every two or three months in a different region of Japan, always attracting many participants.”, 因此本文主要介绍Fashion Exchange在日本的盛行,尽管第一段提到Fashion Exchange在欧美受到了欢迎,但这仅仅是Fashion Exchange的影响,故最佳标题为A。阅读理解I dont think comic book collector really applies to me at all. Im probably more of a comic book appreciator. My interest has always been in what can be accomplished with the medium of visual story-telling.Im not sure exactly where this interest of mine came from. I do know that as a child, comic books allowed me to improve my reading skills. “The Mighty Thor helped me develop an interest in old legends, and “Challengers of the Unknown got me crazy about science fiction. The combination of words and pictures was a perfect springboard for my childhood imagination. How does one learn to appreciate comic book art? There is a classic example that sheds quite a bit of light on the subject. Writer Scott Macloud just explains what makes a comic book stand out in his best selling book Understanding Comics. The book, first published in 1994, has been translated into 13 languages and is practically a bible for students studying graphic illustration (图示说明) in novels. On the internet there are some cool comic book sites to be foundhundreds and hundreds of them as a matter of fact. I would like to suggest that there may be some reasons for their problems with spoken English.First, they fail to find suitable words to express themselves due to a limited vocabulary. Obviously the better answer is to expand their vocabulary. However, you can speak with a limited vocabulary, if your attitude is positive .Others will follow you as long as you use the words that you know.Second, they are afraid of making mistakes. Sometimes they make mistakes when they are speaking because they are shy and nervous .Yet students should remember that their goal should be FLUENCY NOT ACCURACY. Your aim in writing is to be accurate following the rules for grammar and using the right words and spelling them correctly .However, in speaking your aim is fluency. You want t
