陕西省西安市2020高考英语阅读理解和短文改错暑假选练1阅读理解。Since the 1970s, scientists have been searching for ways to link the brain with computers. Brain-computer interface(BCI) technology could help people with disabilities send commands to machines.Recently, two researchers, Jose Millan and Michele Tavella from the Federal Polytechnic school in Lausanne, Switzerland, demonstrated(展示)a small robotic wheelchair directed by a persons thoughts. In the laboratory, Tavella operated the wheelchair just by thinking about moving his left or right band. He could even talk as he watched the vehicle and guided it with his thoughts.“our brain has billions of nerve ceils. These send signals through the spinal cord (脊髓)to the muscles to give us the ability to move. But spinal cord injuries or other conditions can prevent these weak electrical signals from reaching the muscles,” Tavella says. “Our system allows disabled people to communicate with external world and also to control devices.”The researchers designed a special cap for the user. This head cover picks up the signals from the scalp(头皮) and sends them to a computer. The computer interprets the signals and commands the motorized wheelchair. The wheelchair also has two cameras that identify objects in its path. They help the computer react to commands from the brain.Prof. Millan, the team leader, says scientists keep improving the computer software that interprets brain signals and turns them into simple commands. “The practical possibilities that BCI technology offers to disabled people can be grouped in two categories: communication, and controlling devices. One example is this wheelchair.”He says his team has set two goals. One is testing with real patients, so as to prove that this is a technology they can benefit front. And the other is to guarantee that they can use the technology over long periods of time.1.BCI is a technology that canA. help to update computer systems B. link the human brain with computersC. help the disabled to recover D. control a persons thoughts2. How did Tavella operate the wheelchair in the laboratory?A. By controlling his muscles. B. By talking to the machine.C. By moving his hand. D. By using his mind.3. Some might not want to admit it, but there is a hidden Cinderella in everyones heartwe all wish we could achieve recognition or success after a period of obscurity (默默无闻).Mary Santiago has that secret dream, too. Her story is featured in Another Cinderella Story, a film set in a US high school.Mary is shy but loves to dance. Compared with other girls, she is invisible. However, her world changes completely when a famous teenager pop singer, Joey Parker, appears.Joey is everything the rest of the boys in her class are notkind, handsome and desirable. Mary and Joeys paths cross at a ball. They meet and fall in love with each other. But when Mary has to rush back home, she leaves behind her MP3 player, which becomes the only clue Joey has to find the girl of his dreams. Of course, there is a wicked stepmother, who turns out to be Dominique Blatt and she takes in Mary after her dancer mother dies. Dominique treats Mary like a maid and does everything she can to make sure Mary doesnt get into the top dance school. Her two daughters are equally determined to stop Joey falling for Mary, even if that means embarrassing her.The story, though it mostly follows Cinderella, does add a few modern day twists to the classic fairy tale. Refreshingly, the film, unlike many high school films, does not focus on looks, although the actors are all beautiful. There is also a lot less materialism in Another Cinderella Story than in many similar movies.“The movie takes the Cinderella fairytale as its jumping off point,” writes movie critic Amber Wilkinson. “Yet the focus is firmly on following your dream.”1. The first paragraph is mainly to _.A. inform us of the importance to marry a princeB. remind us why Cinderella is popular all the yearsC. build interest and lead us to Marys secret dreamD. tell us how interesting the fairy tale Cinderella is2. In the movie, Mary Santiago is the main character who _.A. is badly treated by the stepmother B. is brave in expressing her loveC. has a dream of meeting a prince D. is embarrassed by the pop singer3. What can we infer from the passage?A. Joey is just like other boys in Marys class.B. The MP3 player helps Joey in finding Mary.C. Not many people have a dream to be realized.D. Marys mother influences her a lot in singing.4. What does movie critic Amber Wilkinson mean by his words about Another Cinderella Story?A. The movie is exactly another copy of the Cinderella fairytale.B. The movie is as good as the story Cinderella.C. The movie and Cinderella both focus on following your dream.D. The movie is based on the story Cinderella while a little different from it.5. The passage is mainly about _.A. an introduction to Mary Santiago B. a review about a filmC. an essay about dreams D. an advertisement of Cinderella【参考答案】15、CABDB【由湖南省2020高考十三校联考第二次考试改编】阅读理解。阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。Nowadays some students in middle school date with their classmatesAccording to a new study from the University of Georgia, those students have much worse study skills and are four times more likely to stop schoolingThey use twice as much alcohol and tobacco than their single classmatesRomantic relationships are a trademark of adolescence, but very few studies have examined how adolescents differ in the development of these relationships, said Pamela Orpinas, study author and professor in the College of Public Health and Head of the department of Health Promotion and BehaviourOrpinas followed a group of 624 students over a seven-year period from 6th to 12th gradesEach year, the group of students completed a survey indicating whether they had dated and reported the frequency of different behaviours, including the use of drugs and alcoholTheir teachers completed questionnaires about the students7 academic efforts He found some students never or hardly ever reported dating from middle to high school, and these students had consistently the best study skills according to their teachersOther students dated infrequently in middle school but increased the frequency of dating in high schoolAt all points in time, teachers rated the students who reported the lowest frequency of dating as having the best study skills and students with highest dating as having the worst study skills, according to the journal articleStudy skills refer to behaviours that lead to academic success such as doing homework for extra credit, being well organized, finishing homework, working hard and reading assigned chaptersDating a classmate may have the same emotional complications (并发症) of dating a co-worker, Orpinas saidWhen the couple break up, they have to continue to see each other in class and perhaps witness the ex-partner (前伴侣) dating someone elseIt is reasonable to think this could be linked to depression and distract (分散注意力) them from studyingDating should not be considered a ceremony of growth in middle school, Orpinas concluded1We can learn from the passage that students who date in middle school may _Abe less likely to use alcohol and tobaccoBenjoy better school livesCbe more likely to hurt othersDhave poorer academic performances2During his study, Orpinas _Afound study skills have connection with their frequency of datingBcompleted questionnaires about the students7 academic effortsCcompleted a survey and a report each yearDfollowed a group of students of 6th and 12th3Study skills may include the following behaviors and qualities except _Abeing kind and helpfulBbeing well organizedCbeing diligentDfinishing assigned schoolwork4What can possibly happen to those who date in middle school after they break up?AThey will think it reasonable to get depressedBThey will miss their ex-partners sometimesCTheir attention to studying will be affectedDThey dont want to see each other any longer5According to the passage, Orpinas holds a(n) _ attitude towards dating in middle schoolAindifferent Bnegative Cpositive Dsupportive【参考答案】15、DAACB阅读理解。阅读下列短文, 从给的四个选项 (A、B、C和D) 中, 选出最佳选项。Very old people do raise moral problems for almost everyone who comes in contact with them. Their valuesthis cant be repeated too oftenare not necessarily our values. Physical comfort, cleanness and order are not necessarily the most important things. The social services from time to time find themselves faced with a flat with decaying food covered by small worms, and an old person lying alone in bed, taking no notice of the worms. But is it interfering(干涉) with personal freedom to insist that they go to live with some of their relatives so that they might be taken better care of? Some social workers, the ones who clear up the worms, think we are in danger of carrying this concept of personal freedom to the point where serious risks are being taken with the health and safety of the old.Indeed, the old can be easily hurt or harmed. The body is like a car, it needs more mechanical maintenance(机械维修,保养) as it gets older. You can carry this comparison right through to the provision of spare parts. But never forget that such operations are painful experiences, however good the results will be. And at what point should you stop to treat the old body? Is it morally right to try to push off death by seeking the development of drugs to excite the forgetful old mind and to activate the old body, knowing that it is designed to die? You cant ask doctors or scientists to decide, because so long as they can see the technical opportunities, they will feel bound to give them a try, on the principle that while theres life, theres hope. When you talk to the old people, however, you are forced to the conclusion that whether age is happy or unpleasant depends less on money or on health than it does on your ability to have fun.1. What does the passage mainly tell us?A. The values are different between the old and the young.B. The moral problems raised by old people.C. The personal freedom for the old.D. Old peoples viewpoint on life.2. We can know from the first paragraph that_.A. Very old people would like to live alone to have more personal freedom.B. Very old people are able to keep their room clean.C. Very old people like to live with their children.D. Social services have nothing to do with very old people.3. According to the author, which of the following is right?A. The older a person, the more care he needs.B. Too much emphasis has been put on old peoples values.C. The human body cant be compared to a car.D. It is easy to provide spare parts for old people.4.The underlined word “it” in the last paragraph refers to “_”.A. their money or their healthB. the conclusion you come toC. your talk to the old peopleD. whether age is happy or unpleasant【参考答案及解析】1.B 主旨大意题。根据文章第 1 句 Very old people do raise moral problems for almost everyone who comes in contact with them 及全文内容可知,答案选 B。2.
