Applicants educated outside of Ontario must submit evidence of education equivalent to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six Grade 12 U or M courses. Please note: Ryerson reserves the right to be the final arbiter of what will be aepted on an equivalency basis. It is essential that subject prerequisite requirements and grades for specific Ryerson programs form part of the academic background of applicants from outside Ontario, especially in the last two years of secondary school studies. Programs may specify non-academic requirements for admission (e.g. portfolio, admission essay, interview, audition, etc.). These programs are referred to as Grades-Plus programs. The specific non-academic requirements for individual Grades-Plus programs, including specific submission dates and procedures, are available by visiting each Program page. Note: for Grades-Plus programs, both academic and non-academic criteria will be used in the admission selection process. Proof of English Language Proficiency may be required. Subject to petition, applicants may be required to present averages/grades above the minimum. In most cases, subject prerequisites should be pleted at the AP level and/or Grade 12 senior academic level (some exceptions apply). The high school profile (including areditation, grading scheme, etc.) must aompany the academic record. While we do not have minimum SAT or ACT score requirements, strong performance on a standardized test can strengthen an application. If SAT or ACT examinations have been written, the results should be submitted. Advanced Placement (AP) examination results will also be considered. AP courses with examination scores of 4 or higher will be considered for transfer credit on an individual basis. Additional requirements include a notarized copy of Hui Kao (or equivalent test) results and results from any other standardized academic tests (e.g. SAT, ACT or AP tests). Copies of awards received for academic achievement as well as reference letters from school officials highlighting academic aomplishments are encouraged. Document Requirements: A current transcript including any mid-term/mid-year results available, the grading scale, and the name of the diploma to be awarded upon pletion of your studies. IB Higher Levels with grades of 5 or higher may be considered for transfer credit on an individual basis. It is in your best interest to plete your English proficiency test and have the score submitted to Ryerson as soon as possible. If your test is not received in a timely manner, it may delay the assessment of your application. Requirements for admission must be pleted or in progress at the time of application. The assessment of an application is based on the information available at the time of application review. Ryerson will not aept English 12U or equivalent in lieu of a test of English language proficiency.
