For SMEs (Small and Medium Enterpri

4、se), this sort of information is quite crucial as well. This report is based on different kinds of information sources (trade directories, market reports, online Database, Websites, and so forth) to search and find out competitors information and then evaluated which information sources is more expe

7、7.5% on a year-on-year basis in 2Q 2006.The manufacturing segment continued to drive the economy in the quarter, although at a slower pace of 10.2%. Obviously, comparing with 2Q05, the ratio (10.2%) of 2Q06 would be twice of it (5.9%) that strongly showing us: Manufacturing will be the biggest contr

8、ibutors to Singapores GDP.2.2 Micro CircumstanceThe Singapores Replitech(replicate-technology), in tune with the Asia Hi-Tech boosting, is already rushing into the golden age. Those optical and magnetic media manufacturers take the advantage of the Replitech and have occupied the major Asias optical

9、 & magnetic media market without any doubts. So starting a new business as a CD/DVD-Rs solution provider is a challenge but absolutely an opportunity to earn a nice business future in Singapore as well.3. Locate Two CompetitorsAfter investigating into the optical & magnetic media market in Singapore

10、 via online database, websites, annual reports from the SMEs in optical & magnetic media manufacturers, Yellow pages of Singapore and trade dictionaries and so on. Eventually, I located two companies in Singapore as our primary competitors. One is General Magnetics; another one is Datapulse Technolo

18、 to 24 million SGD in year 2004. Owing to continual shrinking market of audio tapes, the decline of overturn came forth. High oil quotation was the key point which dramatically influenced their raw materials costs and results that made business conditions still competitive.3.1.4 Future PlanDuring th

19、e year, for the sake of reducing their operating costs, the company had put their operations to a lower cost country. Th

27、e North Asias media storage products and services market demand arousing made the gain distinguished. Total operating costs declined by 6.5% from 58.4 million SGD to 54.6 million SGD. The drop was due to the following reasons:1st Raw materials and other operating costs descended in virtue of costs m

28、anagement and properly use of facilities; 2nd Certain property depreciated; 3rd Reduction in human resource costs.Eventually, the Groups net profit improved from 1.4 million SGD to 6.1 million SGD. 3.2.4 Future PlanIn despite of the competitive environment, the company had obtained an outstanding ac

29、hievement. Resultingly, they can lower their human resource costs, raw materials costs and depreciation. To bring into play this advantage the company will remain to be absorbed in expanding its customer along with aggrandizing its facilities usage. Taking a look at the aftertime, the company is hig

30、hly expected its better performance for FY 2007. 4. Summing-upDuring searching information of the competitors, I found that trade directories only can provide limited information of the companies. And much irrelevant information is commingled in the sources as well. Another aspect, beyond all doubt,

31、 market report can give us a clear direction to locate our competitors, which is a spotlight for us to search in an unawareness of market conditions. Nevertheless, if we are looking for more details about our competitors, we are unable to make much sense for that since the market report focuses on the macro-level of the market such as which company is in the dominating position with XX percentage of the market profits. As a matter of fact, online sources can furnish more information about our compet
