For social and cultural changes the European population is getting older and it is increasing the number of people that, excluded from work processes, could t

3、ravel for cultural interests and pleasure. For these reasons cultural tourism represents an important feature of tourism in Italy. Therefore city councilors and cultural and architectural heritage administrators should give more attention to accessibility and usability issues referring to the whole

4、fabric of the city and not merely to the buildings. In particular small and medium historical cities are characterized by diffuse cultural heritage. In many Italian cities there is not a singular element of tourist attraction but the whole city centre represents the element of tourist attraction.App

5、roach and/or MethodologyThe applied research “Pavia city for all” surveyed the accessibility and usability level of paths, streets and squares in city centre. The city has roman origins and it is about 35 km from Milan. In particular the attention was focused on those building that for their cultura

6、l and historical value are the main elements of tourist attraction for the city.It was created a point system evaluation tool consisting of 6 indicators and structured on 22 parameters that can be objectively detected and surveyed. This evaluation method allows the subsequent determination of tree d

7、ifferent accessibility levels (high, medium, low).Results or Expected ResultsConcluding the research, tree different path were identified with a medium and high accessibility level for each tourist attractor. These paths illustrated by thematic maps and describe by studied texts that can be easily e

8、laborated by the vocal synthesizers used by blind and visually impaired. Reading the collected data it was possible to identify and chart a unique course that links ten tourist attractions.One of the first results of the research was the publication of a tourist map promoted by the Municipality of P

9、avia. The map shows the path, describes accessibility features and gives an artistic description of the monuments along the walk.ConclusionIn the research parameters to evaluate accessibility and usability level of urban spaces were identified. This methodology could be used not only in tourist fiel

10、d but also in other different fields. The checklist used to evaluate accessibility can be tested also for the mapping of architectural and sensory barriers in the city as well as a tool to define intervention priorities in order to improve accessibility and usability level.Topic Code: C.2Number of w

13、個參數的計分制度是客觀偵測與審查的評估工具。這個評估方法容許其後三個無障礙水平的判斷 (高、中、低)。結果或預期結果:研究發現，三個不同的小徑被評定為中度及高度的無障礙水平。這些小徑被描繪在主題地圖，並由精煉的文字描述，將更易被失明人士及視障人士的聲音合成器讀取。收集所得的數據能確定及描繪一條連接十個旅遊景點的路線。第一批研究成果成就了帕維亞省旅遊地圖的出版。此地圖不但展示路徑、描述無障礙特點，還為沿途的遺址提供了美學的描繪。結論:本研究確定了評估城市空間之無障礙及可用性水平的參數。本研究方法不但可以在旅遊業應用，同時可應用於不同領域。用以評估無障礙的清單不但能夠勘測城市中的建築及感官障礙，還
