My topic is Module1 My First Day at Senior High. I will report my teaching design in 5parts.Part1 the analysis of the teaching

2、material.This text mainly talks about the school life of a new comer to senior high. It tells us some details about the authors experience and feeling on his first day of Senior High. As it is just two and a half months since the students came to school such a topic is familiar to the students, so i

3、t can arouse their interest According to the analysis of the teaching material. I set the following teaching aims:Firstly, knowledge aims. To help ss master some useful words, expressions and know how to describe their school life.Secondly, ability aims. To improve ss reading skills, such as, skimmi

4、ng and scanning. Thirdly, emotional aims. By learning this lesson, the students should learn to love their new school life and form positive attitude towards study in new surroundings. According to these aims, I have set some key points and difficult points. The key point is to improve ss reading sk

5、ills, such as, skimming and scanning and so on.Difficult point is how to get ss actively involved in the class and talk about their school freely.Well, so much for the teaching material. Now lets come to the second part. Part2 the analysis of the studentsWell, as senior 1 Ss, they have mastered some

6、 useful words and expressions. And have basic skills for reading, speaking, and writing. However, they are poor in communication and cooperation. And some are not active in the class, so Ill try to create a friendly and relaxing atmosphere and make Ss the masters of my class. In a word, The Ss will

7、learn to communicate, cooperate with others and form good learning methods at the same time.Part3 teaching and learning methods.On the basis of Ss, I will mainly use Task-based teaching method and Cooperative teaching method. In order to make my class lively and brief, I will mainly use multimedia i

8、n my class. As for learning method, it is important for Ss to communicate with others, for example individual work, pair work and group work will be used. Ok, now lets come to the most important part.Part4 teaching procedure.There are 5 steps in this part.Step1 Lead-inI will show some pictures to in

9、troduce our school and activities in school life. Then I will ask ss to talk about their first day at senior high, e.g. what they saw and felt, and what their first impressions of the new school, new teachers and new classmates.This step is to arouse their interest to the topic and introduce some ne

10、w words for further study such as amazing ,enthusiastic(板书) Step2 Pre-readingI will ask Ss to look at the title and the pictures of the text and ask them to discuss with their partner and guess what will be mentioned in the text and then I will ask some students to present their predictions. I will

11、write their predictions on the BB (e.g. playing ground, teacher, classrooms, and self-introduction).Their predictions are to be checked in next step.This step can arouse Ss curiosity and desire for the reading.Step3 While readingFirstly, fast reading. For this part 2 tasks are to be finished: 1.chec

12、k their predictions 2.match the the main ideas with each para. and get the main idea of each part.Para1.Para2.Para3.This step is to help Ss get the main ideas of this passage and improve their skill of skimming.Secondly,careful reading: After getting the structure of the passage and the general idea

13、 of each part, I will deal with details part by part.1. for para1, I will ask ss to read the passage carefully and do some T or False exercises on the screen.2. for paras2-4 I will ask ss to fill in a table with the information given in the text.3. For paras5-6: I will prepare ss some wh-questions a

14、bout the text.During the careful reading, Ss must come across some difficult sentences that they cant understand. For example, Ms Shens method of teaching is nothing like that of the teachers at my Junior High School. I will help them solve these problems by getting them involved in different tasks.

15、 And I will give them some explanations if necessary.The purpose of this step is to help Ss get more detailed information of the passage and improve their skill of scanning. Thats for the while reading. Now lets move to the forth step.Step4 Post- readingTwo activities are designed to help ss consoli

16、date their learning and have a deeper understanding of the text.1. Retelling: I will ask ss to retell the passage according to the main idea of each para.(This step is to consolidate what they have learned today.)2. Discussion:After retelling the passage, I will ask ss to work in groups and talk abo

17、ut their new school life at Senior High.Purpose:This is to encourage Ss to express themselves freely and meanwhile, to develop their ability of communication and cooperation.Step5 HomeworkAfter class, I will ask Ss to write a short passage to describe their new school life at senior high.I will encourage ss to write about the teachers, classmates,classroom and school yard. Etc.Purpose:This can foster Ss ability to study on their own and develop Ss writing skills.Part5 Blackboard design Well, as you can see, this is my blackboard design.
