The characters are so realistic that its hard not to fall in love with all of them: Maya, “the fantastic book-w

23、orm,” Amelia, “the giantess” with questionable taste in fashion, Lambiase, the adorable police chief, and AJ. Fikry, the reluctant hero who hates electronic reading devices that will “send centuries of a lively culture into what will surely be a rapid decline.”The passage of time, race issues, and t
