、vailable then the computer will assign itself an IP address using a IP address scheme determined by the computer. The address usually starts with 169Sometimes take up to 2 minutes for the DHCP process to time out and AUTOIP to start.StreamNet uses a variation of AutoIP. As the installer you specify a

、 range of IP addresses and a subnet mask. When the device boots up it selects an IP address in that range, verifies that it is not in use and then uses that address. You can also manually assign a static IP address to each individual device. Both AutoIP and static addresses are configured using DigiLi

、nX System Setup software.IP Addresses and StreamNetBy default StreamNet devices use address from to 55 with a Class A subnet. How do I choose an IP address range for my StreamNet enable system and for the sites network?Typically, the site will already have selected a specific IP Address scheme (usual

For example:Static devices : through 0StreamNet devices: 1 through 50Site network: 51 through 54Dividing the IP addresses this way ensures that

、desperate systems do not conflict with each other.Larger commercial networks will use different IP address ranges, but the principal still applies.
