新建文本文档htmlABlack&Whitepaperisastudybasedonprimaryresearchsurveydatathatassessesthemarketdynamicsofakeyenterprisetechnologysegmentthroughthelensofthe"ontheground"experienceandopinionsofrealpractitioners—whattheyaredoing,andwhytheyaredoingit.NicoleHendersonisaResearchAnalystontheCloud&ManagedServicesTransformationteamat451Research,apartofS&PGlobalMarketIntelligence.Herresearchexaminesmanagedservicesforpubliccloud,alternativepubliccloudsandhostedprivatecloudinfrastructure.GlobalMarketIntelligence.Hehasanextensive,hands-onunderstandingofabroadrangeofITsubjectareas,havingdirectexperienceintheareasofsecurity,networks,applicationandinfrastructuretransformationandsemiconductors.Hecoordinatesindustryanalysisacrossthebroadportfolioof451Researchdisciplines,contributestotheInformationSecurityandCloudNativeChannels,andisamemberoftheCenterofExcellenceforQuantumTechnologies.Hybridcloudenvironmentshavebecomethenewnormal,particularlyasconsumersofITserviceshavebecomemoreempoweredtomakecloudchoicesthatfittheirneeds.Hybridcloudcombinestwoormorecloudsthatarecentrallymanagedtoenableinteroperability,andcanincludeon-premisesprivate,hostedprivate,orpublic/laaScloud.Today,organizationsaroundtheworldareincreasinglyusingmultiplecloudsforcriticalworkloads,relyingonthemtoimprovesecurity,performance,businessagilityandresilience,andtomeetregulatoryorsovereigntyrequirements.Thisreport,basedonarecentsurveyconductedby451ResearchonbehalfofCisco,exploresandgaugestheprogressoforganizationsaroundtheglobeastheyworktoachievethepromiseofhybridcloud.The2022GlobalHybridCloudTrendsReportoffersguidanceforbusinessestoachievebetteroutcomesinhybridcloud,byevolvingtoaninfrastructurestrategythatiscloud-readyandusesacloud-smartoperationsmodelthatacceleratestheadoptionofcloud-nativetechnologies.Thereportincorporatesresponsesfrom2,500globalITdecision-makersandprofessionalsincloudcomputing,DevOpsandenterprisenetworkingroles,representing13countriesacrossNorthAmerica,LatinAmerica,APACandWesternEurope.Respondentorganizationsareadvancedusersofcloud,withkeeninterestinleading-edgetechnologies.Whilehybridcloudprovidesarangeofopportunitiesandbenefitsfororganizations,manyareacutelyawareofthechallengesinoperatingtheseenvironments.Cloud-nativearchitecturesandemergingtechnologiescompetefortheattentionofstaffandforbudgets,whilesecurityandnetworkingchallengesremaintopofmind.Addingnewelementstoanexistinginfrastructuremixraisesthelevelofoperationalcomplexity,andorganizationsaregrapplingwithwaystotamethisissue.Thesurveyresultshighlightthecorrelationbetweendeliveringbetterbusinessoutcomesandcollaborationbetweencloudoperations,DevOps,andnetworkingteams,suggestingthatregardlessofthetechnologyatplay,cooperationbetweentheseteamsiscriticalforsuccessfulhybridcloudoperations.automation(41%),composableinfrastructure(37%)andedgecomputing(41%)innetworkingrolesstronglyagdevelopingtheirorganization'snetworkstrategy·Costmanagementisthesecondhighestconcern(33%)inmulticloudoperations·79%ofrespondentssaythatmorethan51%oftheirworkloadswillrunondifferenthardwareacrossenvironments,whichreinforcestheneedforacomprehensivetoolsetformanagingworkloadsregardlessofwheretheyreside.Mostorganizationsaroundtheworldnowusemultiplecloudstosupportmyriadapplicationsanddeliverimprovementsinbusinessagilityandscalability.IntheGlobalHybridCloudTrendssurvey,82%ofrespondentscurrentlyusehybridlaaScloudinfrastructuretohosttheirworkloads.Thishybridapproachenablesorganizationstoachieveamoreagileandscalabledevelopmentenvironment(42%)andacceleratebusinessagilityandinnovation(40%).Inaddition,asorganizationsconsiderthebestvenuefortheirworkloadstodayandinthefuture,theuseofmultiplecloudshasbecomeapopularapproachthatallowsorganizationstoMostsurveyedorganizations(58%)use2-3publiclaaScloudprovidersfortheirworkloads,with31%ofrespondentsusing4-10publiccloudproviders(seeFigure2).Theorganizationsthatusemorethanthreecloudprovidersmakeuseofalternativecloudprovidersplaypubliccloudprovidersorcloudservicesofferedaspartofabroaderportfolio(e.g,telcos).andensureoptimizationaroundcostsandperformance.3新建文本文档.html1andvideocallingcustomer新建文本文档.htmlSurveyrespondentsthateitheruseorwouldusemultiplelaaS,PaaSandSaaSproviderstellusthatusingmultiplecloudsenablestheirorganizationtoeffectivelymanagesecurityconsiderationssuchasdataresidencyandexposurerisk(42%),toachievemoreagileandscalabledevelopmentenvironments(42%),andtoaccessbest-of-breedcloudservicesandapplications(41%).Theroadtohybridcloudandmulticlouduseisnotwithoutitschallenges,andsecuritystandsabovetherestasthegreatestchallengethatsurveyrespondentsfaceinusingmultipleclouds.Asnotedearlier,securityisalsothetopreasonthatsurveyrespondentsusemultipleclouds(37%),astheylooktobalancesecuritywiththeneedsofperformanceandscale(42%),whileone-thirdofrespondentsfacechallengesrelatedtooperationalcomplexity(33%)andmanagingcosts(33%)intheseenvironments.Surveyrespondentsemployvariousstrategiestoovercometheseroadblocksanddemonstrateastrongappetiteforimplementingnewtechnologiestohelpthemdoso.elementsHybridapproacOnefactorinthematuringofcloudoperationsismanagingriskbybeingselectiveaboutwhereworkloadsanddataareplaced.Hybridenvironmentscangivesecurityteamsoptionsthatallowthemtobalanceplacement,puttingsomeworkloadsinpubliccloudswhilekeepingotherson-premises,orusingdifferentregionsfordataresidencyrequirements.Whilethat'sanadvantage,it'sonethathasriskelementsofitsownintermsoftheadditionalcomplexityofoperatinginmultiple,dissimilarrealms.Eachcloudenvironmentcanhaveitsownoperationalmodelandmanagementenvironment.Withoutacommonframeworktomanagethem,securityteamsneedtodevelopfluencyineachnewcloud-asignificantinvestmentintimeandresources.Securitycanbeevenmoredifficulttohandlewhenyouconsiderhowoftenapplicationsaremovingfromoneenvironmenttoanother-morethanhalfoftotalsurveyrespondentssaytheyaremovingapplicationsbetweenon-premisesandoff-premisesenvironmentsweekly.Enterprisesarelookingatalloptionstoimprovetheirsecurityposture,includingusingcloud-nativetechnologies(44%ofrespondents)andusinginfrastructureascode(58%).Inadditiontomanagingthesecurityoftheoverallenvironment,securingAPIsacrossmultiplecloudsisasignificantchallengefor32%ofrespondents.Thisisanareawhereautomationandabstractioncandeliverthebestofhybridcloud'spromiseforsecuritywhileovercomingsecurity-relatedchallenges.Ifsecurityteamscanimplementtoolsthatletthemuseacommonframeworkforsecuritymanagementacrossmultipleclouds,theycanmitigatethelargestrisksofmisconfigurationandoperationalmistakes,whileensuringthatguardrailsareinplacetogettherightworkloadsdeployedintheproperenvironments.Theabstractionsthatcapablemanagementplatformsoffercanbeforcemultipliersforsecurityteamsthatarealreadyovertaxedbyhybridcomplexity.6Theuseofmulticloudcontributestooperationalcomplexityforone-thirdofsurveyedorganizations,evenasthereisaproliferationoftoolsonthemarketdesignedtosimplifythemanagementofcloudenvironments.Forinstance,themajorityofsurveyrespondentsuseacloud-basedIToperationsplatformdeliveredasaservice(94%),whichcanhelpanorganizationquantifyoperationalcomplexity,providefulllifecyclemanagement,andofferproactivesupportofon-premisesinfrastructure-allkeycapabilitiesidentifiedbyrespondentsastopcriteriainselectingacloud-basedITOpsplatform.Hybridenvironmentsnotonlymeanthatorganizationsmustmanagedisparatecloudenvironments,butalsodifferenthardware.Manysurveyrespondents(79%)tellusthatmorethan51%oftheirworkloadswillrunondifferenthardwareacrossallenvironments,whichreinforcestheneedforacomprehensivetoolsetformanagingworkloadsregardlessofwheretheyreside.Concernsaboutvisibilityintomorecomplexinfrastructurehaveplacedafocusonmanagementsupportthatcanspanmulticloudenvironments.Toensuretheymeettheirbusinessobjectives,aSaaS-basedoperationsplatformistheleadingchoice(60%)forrespondents.Managingcostscanbechallenging;however,mostorganizations'useofmulticloudisnotdrivenbytheexpectationthatthisapproachwillhelpreducecloudservicescosts(66%ofrespondents).Morethanhalfofrespondents(56%)useacost/benefitapproachtojustifyandload-balancecloudservicepurchasing.Costoptimizationisonemeasurementofmulticloudsuccess,butsavingmoneyisnotaguaranteeinthecloud,anditistheabilitytoconnectcloudstrategytooverallbusinessobjectivesthatdrivesrealvalue.Asunderstandingofcloud'svaluematures,expectationsareshiftingfromcostreductiontocostmanagementtoenablebusinessagilityandscale-oneofthetoptwomotivationsformulticloudinthestudy.Developershavebecomemoreinfluentialindetermininganorganization'scloudstrategy,andtheyfrequentlyplayakeyroleinselectionofcloudplatformsandservicesthatsupportapplicationdevelopmentandinfrastructuremodernization.SurveyrespondentsincloudoperationsandDevOpsrolesindicatethatacloud-firstmandateforallnewapplicationdevelopment(34%)isthetippingpointtowardchangingdevelopmentprocessesandtoolsattheirorganization,whilecostoptimization(19%)andautomation(18%)arecontributingfactors.Thisisanotherindicationofthematuringexpectationsaroundcloudenvironments,asorganizationsexpectoperationalcapabilitiestobepartoftheirmulticloudjourney.Acloud-firstmandatemaybeappliedtonet-newapplicationsasmostbusinessesaredealingwithlegacyapplicationsthatrequireadifferentapproachtotransformation.CloudOpsandDevOpsrespondentstellusthattheirapproachtomission-criticalandlegacyapplicationsmovingforwardistomodernizeinplace(38%)orrefactorandshift(25%),leveragingcloud-nativetechnologiestosupportthistransition.Oursurveyrespondentsarebullishontransformation,withonly8%planningtoretainmission-criticalworkloadswheretheyare.Regardlessofwhereanorganizationdecidestorunaparticularapplication,networkingisacriticalcapabilitythatensuresapplicationsfunctionandperformproperly,anddevelopersconsidertheirinvolvementindeterminingnetworkingprioritiesasnon-negotiable.Themajorityofdeveloperseitheragreeorstronglyagree(92%)thathavingaseatatthetableindeterminingtheirorganizations'networkingstrategyandprioritiesisimportant.Theimportanceofnetworkingisreinforcedbythefrequencywithwhichsurveyrespondentsmoveworkloadsbetweenoff-premisesandon-premisesenvironments-53%moveworkloads/applicationsbetweenthesevenuesweekly,while39%dosomonthly.Meanwhile,networkingprofessionalsalsoviewthisrelationshipascritical:57%ofrespondentsinnetworkingrolesstronglyagreethatitisimportantfortheirDevOpsteamtobeinvolvedindevelopingtheirorganization'snetworkstrategy.Infact,mostdevelopersindicatetheyalreadyhaveaprocessinplacetocollaboratewithnetworkingteams,with71%ofDevOpsrespondentshavingaregularcadenceofmeetingswiththisteam-eitherweekly(62%)ormonthly(9%)-while8%ofrespondentsdescribeadhocmeetingsasthenorm(seeFigure4)AlthoughmostsurveyrespondentsfeeltheircurrentlevelofcollaborationbetweenDevOpsandnetworkingteamsissufficient(83%),thereareroadblocksthatpreventevenmorecooperation.Competingprioritiesbetweenteams(45%),resistancetochange(43%)anddifferentobjectivesandincentives(41%)areallfactorsthatpreventfurthercollaborationbetweenDevOpsandnetworkingteams.Speakingthesamelanguagearoundhownetworkingcandrivefasterandmoreeffectivedevelopmentandidentifyingcommonbusinessgoalscouldgoalongwayinbringingtheseteamstogether.Itisevidentthatwhilecollaborationishappeningatsomelevel,thereisstillroomtoimproveoutcomesthataddressdevelopers'concernsaroundnetworking8Inoursurvey,48%ofdevelopersnotethatnetworkreliabilityisoneofthemostpressingchallengestheyencounter.DevOpsteamswantmorevisibilityintonetworkingissues,and41%ofdeveloperstellusthataccessingroot-causeanalysisisakeychallengetheyface,alongwithlackofcommontools,platformsandinterfaces.Moreproductivecollaborationwouldhelpdevelopersbetterunderstandnetworkingprioritieswhileensuringthatapplicationrequirementsandbusinessneedsareconsideredaspartoftheoverallnetworkingstrategy.Therespondentstooursurveyshowkeeninterestinarangeofleading-edgetechnologiesthatcanbenefitfromhybridarchitectures,includingdeploymentofinfrastructureautomation(49%),edgecomputing(41%)andcomposableinfrastructure(27%).Someformofedgecomputingcapabilityisalreadydeployedby41%ofsurveyrespondents,whileanadditional53%expecttodeployedgeinthenexttwoyears.It'satechnologythathasbroadapplication,andhybridapproachestoedgecomputingcanensurethattherightlevelofcapacityisintherightplacetooptimizeapplicationperformanceandcustomerexperience.Organizationsthatuse10ormorelaaScloudplatformsweremorelikelytobefurtheralong(57%alreadyindeployment)inedgecomputing.Infrastructureautomationiscriticaltooperatingatcloudscaleandefficiency,andaslightlylargernumberofsurveyedorganizations(49%)reportedautomationdeployment.It'sanareawheretherehastraditionallybeenunderinvestment,andwhencomparedwithoverallclouduse,there'sastrikingdifference.Ofthoseorganizationswithonlyasinglepubliccloudinuse,39%saidautomationwasdeployed.Thosewithmorethan10cloudsinoperationreportedmuchhigherlevelsofautomationdeployment-55%.Thisisanindicationthatautomationisbecomingmandatorytomanagegrowinghybridcloudcomplexity.Toolsthatleverageautomation-suchasIToperationsplatformsdeliveredasacloud-basedservicethatsupportinfrastructurelifecyclemanagement-canfurtherhelpmakesenseofthecomplexityinhybridcloud.Atthesametime,surveyrespondentsarealsolookingformoreefficientoperation,withastronginterestinpredictivecapabilitiesusingtelemetryandAlOps.Thisisamaturationofoperationalmindsets,astheymovefromreactivemodelstopredictiveonesonthewaytobeingfullyproactive.Almosthalfofsurveyedorganizations(45%)areusingsomeformofAlOpstechnologytoday,and49%areexpectingtodeployitinthenextyear.Therearestrongsignalsinthestudyaboutinterconnectionandtheimportanceofaccesstodata.Datafabricscanensurethatdataisavailableacrossahybridenvironment,and88%ofrespondentseitherhavethatcapabilityinplacetodayorexpecttohaveitwithintwoyears.Buildingperformantinfrastructuretoaccesstheapplicationsthatarehandlingallthatdataisalsoseenascriticallyimportant,andprivate5Gwirelessnetworksareexpectedtobeutilizedby91%ofrespondentsinthenexttwoyears.Hybridenvironmentsdependoneffectivedatadistributionandaccesscapabilities.Thetransitiontocloud-nativeapplicationarchitecturesisacceleratingasorganizationslooktothesetechnologiestosupportbetterperformanceandsecurityoftheirapplications.Mostsurveyrespondents(91%)areactivelymovingorplanningtomoveorrefactorproductionworkloadsandapplicationsusingcloud-nativetechnologies.Whenyoulookattheconsiderationsthataredrivinguseofcloud-nativetechnologies,requirementsaroundperformance(45%),security(44%)andspeed(39%)areamongthetopresponsesfromthoseinDevOpsandCloudOpsroles(seeFigure5).andCloudOpsrolesatorganizationsthatuseNearlyhalfofsurveyrespondentsatorganizationsusingcloud-nativetechnologiestellusthattheirorganizationhascontainersdeployedandinuse(48%),while45%useservicemesh,40%useserverless,and37%oftheserespondentshavedeployedKubernetes.Fewerthan5%ofrespondentsdonotcurrentlyuseorplantouseanyofthesecloud-nativetechnologies,withmanyorganizationsintheplanningordevelopmentstages(seeFigure6).Whilesurveyrespondentsareoptimisticaboutthepotentialofcloud-nativetechnologies,theyarealsoacutelyawareofthechallengestheirorganizationsfacewhenitcomestoeffectiveimplementation.Two-thirds(66%)ofrespondentsinDevOpsandCloudOpsrolesindicatethatsecurityconcernsarethemaindifficultyinusingcloud-native,followedbyprocessandtoolsintegration(57%)andbudgetconstraints(52%)asotherkeychallenges.Thesesecurityconcernsarelikelyexacerbatedbyalackofskillsandbudgetinmanyorganizations,whichcanleadtoastrategythatfailstoprotectdataandworkloadsincloud-nativeenvironments-wheredevelopmenthappensfaster,andthereisgreateruseofautomation.Inadditiontoinfluencinganorganization'ssecuritystrategy,theuseofcloud-nativeapplicationarchitecturesalsoaffectsnetworkingstrategy.SurveyrespondentsinCloudOpsandDevOpsbelievethatcloud-nativetechnologyhashadapositiveimpact,makingnetworkingmoreautomated(24%)andmoresecure(25%)DevelopersandCloudOpsprofessionalsthatleveragecloud-nativeapplicationscanfurtherbuildonanorganization'sautomationandsecuritycapabilitiesusinginfrastructureascode(laC),whichenablesthemanagementofinfrastructurethroughcodeinsteadofmanualprocesses.ImprovedsecurityisacriticaloutcomeoflaCuse,particularlyamongrespondentsincloudoperationsroles,68%ofwhomsaidthatsecurityimprovementsareakeydriveroflaC,comparedwith48%ofDevOpsrespondents.ManagingcloudsecurityisamongthedominantusecasesoflaCfor69%ofDevOpsandCloudOpsrespondents.laCiscrucialinhelpingtomanagecomplexapplications(61%),especiallyamongorganizationsthatuseover10publicclouds(72%)SurveyrespondentsinDevOpsandCloudOpsrolesalsovaluelaCforitsabilitytodelivermoreefficientdevelopment(52%)andimprovedinfrastructureconsistency(52%).Geographically,overhalfoforganizationsinLatinAmericaindicatethatreducingrisk(52%)isthekeydriveroflaCuse,comparedwith34%ofsurveyedorganizationsinNorthAmerica.DevOpsandCloudOpsrespondentsaresplitonhowtheybuiltexistinglaCfunctionality,orhowtheyexpecttobuildit-eitherbyextendingexistingmanagementsystems(36%),usingaSaaS-basedlaCoffering(34%)orbuildingnewdevelopmentenvironments(30%).WhenlookingatthestepsnecessarytosecurelaC,DevOpsandCloudOpsrespondentsfocusedonidentifyingvulnerablesettingsandscanninglaCconfigurationsforvulnerablesettingsastheirleadingimperatives(55%each).It'sapreferencethatcouldbetiedtoexpectationsofbroadercloudsecurityissues.Interestingly,thesevulnerabilityconcernswereprioritizedovertwoareasthatarealsocommonsecurityissueswithcloud-basedinfrastructure-identityandaccessmanagement(41%ofrespondents)andembeddedsecrets(47%),It'sclearthatallthesesecurityissuesareofsignificantconcerntosurveyrespondents.Organizationswesurveyedaregenerallyoptimisticandopen-mindedaboutworkingwithcollaboratorsoutsideoftheircoreteamtoensurethathybridcloudenvironmentsaresecure,whiledeliveringefficiencyandperformance.Respondentsseevalueincooperationbetweennetworking,cloudoperationsandDevOpsteams.Morethanhalfofrespondents(55%)havecreatedacross-functionalteamwithtechnicalandbusinessrepresentation,while50%ofrespondentshaveacentralizedCloudOpsandNetOpsfunctiontohelpensuretheirorganization'shybridcloudstrategymeetsbusinessobjectives.RespondentsinNorthAmericaareslightlymorelikelytohavethisfunctioninplace(58%)thanorganizationsinAPAC(48%)efficiencyoverallandeWhenexecutedproperly,hybridcloudcanenableorganizationstoimprovesecurity,performance,businessagilityandoperationalresilience.It'sacapabilitythatcanoffersupportforarangeofleading-edgetechnologiesthatacceleratedeveloperefficiencywhiledrivingeffectivenessofcloudoperations.Organizationsthatwesurveyedareadvancedusersoftechnologythatrelyonmultiplecloudsfordelivery.Whatsetsthemapartisamorematureapproachtoclouduseandoperations.Theyarelookingtocapitalizeonagility,scaleandtechnologyadvances,whileexpectingtoleverageautomationtomanagecostsandcomplexity.Thepursuitofdigitaltransformationplacesdemandsonanorganizationtoaddressthechallengesofsecurityandoperationalcomplexity.Hybridcloudenvironmentsrequirecollaborationbetweenstakeholdersthatcanidentifytheimplicationsoftechnologydecisionsonotherareasofthebusinessandtheoverallhybridcloudstrategy.Proactiveandconsistentcollaborationbetweencloudoperations,networkingandDevOpsteamscanhelpensurethatsecurity,performanceandagilityremainprioritiesastheorganizationpursuesnewpathsandlookstofosterinnovation.withthattopic.Surveydatareferencedinthisreportwascollectaspartofanindependentwebsurveyofover2,500globalITdecision-makersandprofessionalsincloudcomputing,DevOpsandenterprisenetworkingroles.ItwascommissionedbyCisco.The2022GlobalHybridCloudTrendsReportwascompletedbetweenApril11andMay6,2022.Thesurveywasconductedin13countriesacrossNorthAmerica,LatinAmerica,APACandWesternEurope(US;Canada;Brazil;Mexico;Thesurveywasdesignedtoexaminetrendsinhybridcloudastheyrelatetoenterprises'overallinfrastructureandglobalnetworksstrategy.Thisreportexplorestheprogressoforganizationsaroundtheglobeastheyworktoachievethepromiseofhybridcloudthroughnewtechnologiesandprocesses,andmakesrecommendationstohelporganizationsmarryexpectationswithrealityofhybridcloud,andcomplementaryandemergingtechnologies.GainmoreinsightsfromwhatyourpeersaredoingbyattendingtheCISCO+442071761234marketintelligence@+85225333565market,intelligence@Thesematerialshavebeenpreparedsolelyforinformatio
