高三开学第一课英语(一)

从上个学期开始,我带上了高三英语,站在新学期的门槛上,我感觉到从未有过的光荣与骄傲,由于这是我从教以来第一次带高三,然而,我又感到了肩上从未有过的重重压力,对我来说可以说是一个不小的挑战,由于一方面高三英语知识系统性强,同时又不乏细小繁琐知识的掌控,同学阅读技能和写作技巧的培育更要上一个新的台阶,另一方面,就是同学的非常性,我所带的同学,大都是中学英语学得不好,知识断层现象相当严峻,未经任何形式的对中学阶段内容的复习和巩固,就径直学习高中阶段的知识,加之多年来养成的懒散厌学的学习习惯和立场,故而他们只是时间老人将其推到了高三学习的大门,就知识的输入和存储而言,某种程度上来说,甚至都不如一个初三班级的中上等同学。正是基于以上知识客观性和同学主观性两方面因素,我对于高三英语复习课不知该如何下手,而对于新学期的第一课,我更是不敢有丁点儿怠慢。

在上高三英语课的第一课之前,我进行了反复的思索,同时又对高中阶段的全部英语课本内容进行了细致而全面的分析和整合,可以说,做到了细心的预备。

针对我的同学,我进行了如下学情分析:

一、同学词汇量太小,甚至是对于一些中学学过的单词,当我问到个别同学的时候,他们都不知道意思。例如:单词patient,这是一个中学曾经学过的单词,当问及同学的时候,大部分能说出其中文意思是“病人”,但也有个别同学不认识,当我继续追问该单词作形容词时的中文意思时,大部分同学都无言了,只是一个简约的“耐烦的”他们都不曾知道,可见同学对于单词及词义的延伸掌控的太差,这样的基础,英语复习的第一步都会是很困难。

二、短语和固定句型的掌控也达不到应有的标准。

三、同学对于语法知识一塌糊涂。有些同学到现在连最基本的主语、谓语、宾语、表语、定语、状语和补语都不知道,更别说更繁复的从句和虚拟语气等概念了。

四、以上三个问题就径直决断了同学的听、说、读、写四种技能的低下。

同时,我又对高中英语课本内容进行了分析:从必修课本一贯到选修课本,内容对上至天文、下至地理以及情感、历史、化学等各方面知识百科都有全方位渗透,而且,词汇在量上和难度上逐级加大,复习起来相当的困难。

经过了反复的思考和斟酌,我制定了下面的高三英语第一轮复习策略:考虑到同学的基础和课本内容的难度,我想,把高考的重点词汇、重点短语、重点句型、重点语法、繁复句式和一些名言警句放到课本上每个模块里的某些重要的句子中,同学通过对一些详细而鲜活的句子的记忆和掌控,不仅可以达到扩大词汇量、掌控重点短语句型和理解偏难语法的目的,最重要的是,同学通过背诵经典句子,从长远上来说,更能提高他们的语言表达技能、阅读理解技能和创新写作技能。这种复习的策略,无论是从短期的学习效率还是长远的技能提升上来说,我想,都不失为一种不错的选择。

经过这样一番深刻的`思索,我的第一课有了明确的思路,于是,我对比着必修一Module1的学习目标,经过一遍遍的筛选,总结出了该模块的重点句子。课程详细是这样操作的:

第一步:让同学将每个句子对比着课本找到所在的位置,须要的时候我会对课本上的原句子进行适当的和须要的修改,然后让同学将这些句子摘录到自己的笔记本上,为了便于随堂检查,我把每个句子的中文意思也做到了统一,写到了每一个英文句子下面。

第二步:我把每个句子里的重点知识,比如:单词、词组、句型、语法等着重给同学做一次具体的讲解,同时让他们拿出一支不同颜色的笔,把这些重要的知识做标记于每个句子的旁边,便于在背诵的同时也能对这些知识做一个记忆。

第三步:给同学时间做充分的记忆,这一环节最终是要经过记忆做到:看着中文句子,能够很流利的用英语表达出来。

第四步:经过适当时间的记忆后,进入随堂检测的第一环节,老师在课堂上随机抽查同学对于重点句子的记忆状况,在提问的时候,对于基础好的同学,老师给出中文,让同学用英语表达出来,标准是需要要做到流利;对于基础差的同学,只提问知识点,如:单词的正确拼写,短语和词组的坚固掌控等等,也是需要要娴熟。

第五步:经过第一环节的提问后,立刻进入第二环节:听写。在这一环节,老师任意地念句子,同学在纸上将句子写出来,每个句子读四遍。第一遍,以正常语速读;第二、三遍,放慢朗读的速度,同学开始写;第四遍,还原正常语速,同学对所写的句子进行最末的检查。

第六步:将所写句子收回评判,公布同学成果。

以上就是我在高三英语总复习第一课的完整的教学步骤。这样一节课下来,同学普遍反映效果不错,都说不仅记住了单词短语,而且对一些较难的语法知识也能开始初步理解了,其实,我想,假如能这样坚持下去,同学的写作技能也会有很大的提高。在这节课上,大部分同学能够背会,但也有个别同学还是连里面的重点单词都记不住,还有一个问题就是,虽然大部分同学能背会,但都不能达到特别娴熟的程度。

同学面临的是一年后的高考,要完成这样一个重大的任务,绝非一朝一夕之功,前方的道路仍旧会有很多荆棘,仍旧会很长远。但话又说回来,无论前方的道路有多难多艰,人是活的,只要有继续走下去的信心、志气和毅力,我想即使是荆棘丛生,也会有好花终开,好景永在!

Someoneaskedmeonetime:“Howdidyougetstarted,inthegovernment?”AndIwouldsaytothemthatIdidn’treallye*pecttostartinthegovernment.So,IstartedinAmerica,as,youknow,athirdgrader,IcametoUnitedStateswhenIwasabouteightyearsold.Istartedthirdgrade.Ididn’tspeakEnglish.Anditwasveryverydifficult,withmyparentsaswell.Wedidn’tknowthelanguageinAmerica,wedidn’tunderstandthefood.Wedidn’tunderstandthetradition,theculture.SoI’mstillveryChinesethatway.Peopleaskedme“whatpreparesyoutosuccess?Whatmotivatesyou?”Andforme,I’dsay,No.1Iwanttomakemyparentsproud.Becausetheysacrificesomuchforthechildren;No.2Ialwayswanttoworkforabiggerpurposethanjustformyself.SoIalwayswanttobeabletocontributeandtohelpotherpeople.So,ifyouweretoaskmewhatweremycareergoes?Ididn’thaveany,whichinretrospectwasagoodthing.Becauseourcommunityatthattimewassosmall.So,forme,whenIgraduatedfromschool,Iwasserious.Ihadverysimplegoals:one,istogetajob;two,itisbasicallytogetanapartment,soIcanbeindependent.AndthenIwenttoHarvard,Businessschool.IgraduatedfromHarvardBusinessschool.Andbecausemyfamilywasinbusiness,Idecidedtogointobanking,togetsomee*perienceinbanking.Ididn’tunderstandsomuchofwhatwasbankingwasallabout,butIlearned.SoIworkedforCitiGroup.AndthenwhenIwasinthemiddleofworkingforCitiGroupafter4years,IhadtheopportunitytoworkattheWhiteHouse.BecauseCitiGrouphasaspecialprogram.Theyselectedoutstandingperformerswithinthebank,andgavethemanopportunitytosupportthemforaninterninthegovernment.SoIwasselectedasaWhiteHousefellow.AndIworkedattheWhiteHouseforoneyear.Itwasadifficulttime,it’snoteasy.ButIwassoe*cited.Itwassointeresting.BecausetherewerenoChinese,noAsiansattheWhiteHouseatthattime.SoIfeltthatIwasblazingnewtrailsforotherAsianAmericans.AndthenIwaslearningalottobeabetterleaderforthefuture.SoIworkedattheWhiteHouseforayear.AndthePresidentatthattime,RonaldReaganwasfromCaliforlia.IgrewupinNewYork.I’veneverbeentoCalifornia,soIdecidedthatIwantedtogotoCalifornia.SoIfoundajobwithBankofAmericainCaliforniaandmovedtoCalifornia.Ididn’tknowanybody,Ididn’thaveanyfriendstherebutIwassoe*cited.IjustwantedtoseewhatCaliforniawaslike.SoIwasinCaliforniaforabout3yearsandthenonedayIgotaphonecall,fromSecretaryElizabethDoll.Andshewasthesecretaryoftransportation.Andsheneededsomeonewhounderstoodbanking,whichIhadgainedine*periencefromCitiBank.Andshealsoneededsomeonewhounderstoodshipping,whichIalsohadgainedfromBankofAmerica.Sothetwoe*pertisereallyhelpedmetogetthejobthatshehadinmind.Shehadaportfoliointhedepartmentoftranspo

rtationthatwasloosing1.8billiondollarsayear.Andsheneededabankertogoandcleanitup.Sowithinoneweekend,IflewbackfromCalifornia,foundanapartmentinWashingtonDC,andstartedworkonMonday.Andthenfrom,thiswasthemaritimeadministration.Iworkedtherefor2years,learnedagreatdealaboutthegovernment.Andaround,um,2yearslater,IwasappointedthechairmanoftheFederalMaritimeCommission.AndthereasonwhyIwasappointedwasbecausethepreviouschairmanoftheFederalMaritimeCommissionhadpassedawaysuddenly.Sotheyneededthegovernment,theyneededsomeonewhounderstoodshipping,whohadbeeninthegovernmentinshipping,whocanbethechairman.Soonceagain,myparticularbackgroundinshipping,transportation,bankingwasveryimportant.And,soIwaschairmanforaboutayear.Andthenanewpresidentcamein.AnditwasPresident,thefirstPresidentBush,andsoheaskedmetobetheDeputySecretaryoftheDepartmentofTransportation.Andatthattime,Iwas,um,Imust’vebeenonly35.Stillolderthanyou,butveryveryyoung.Iwasoneoftheyoungestdeputysecretaries,um,inthewholegovernment.AndIwasalsotheonly,thefirstAsianAmericanDeputySecretaryinUnitedStatesgovernment.Andthenin1992,thatwas22yearsago,somany,suchalongtimeago,um,PresidentBushlosthisre-

election.Sowhenhelosesare-

election,whathappensinAmericaiseverybodywho’swithhimgoes.SoIjoinedUnitedwayofAmerica.AndUnitedWayistheNo.1charityinAmerica.Iwastherefor4years.Ihadalittlebitoftimetogetmarried,attheageof39.Itwasverylate.Myhusbandasyouumknow,isthe,um,leaderinthe,um,Congress,He’svery,heisaverygoodhusband.Hedoeshisownlaundry,hecooks,andhehelpsmewiththehouse,too.Heisveryencouragingonwomen,um,andIthinkit’sreallyimportant,tofindsomeonewhoisgoingtobeyourlifepartner.Becausetheywillhelpyouadapttoyourlife,andtheywillhelpyouadapttoyourcareeraswell.Andsoin1996,Iwantedtohaveabreak,soIjoinedaTHINKTANKwhereItooksometimetostudyandlearnmoreabouttheAmericanpoliticalsystem,howtogetideasacross.BecauseAmericaisaveryconfrontationalsociety.Youknowpeoplearearguingallthetime.Sosomepeoplearesayingthis,somepeoplearesayingthat.Andit’sOK,sothere’salotoffighting,backandforth.

Andtheninum,2000,PresidentGeorgeW.Bush,wasgettingreadyforhispresidentialbid,andIhadknownhimbefore,becauseIhadcampaignedwithhis,um,withhimforhisfatherandIhadknownhimbecauseheisalsoformHarvardBusinessSchool.Um,PresidentGeorgeW.Bushwastheclassof1971,andIwasclassof1979.Sowekneweachotherfromthataswell.

Andyou’llbeinterestedtoknowthatIactuallywassupposedtoget,Ithought,theDepartmentofTransportation,but,nonomineegottheDepartmentofTransportation.AndsoI

wasverydisappointedandIthinkittellsyoualessoninthatifyouarefacedwithdisappointment:No.1,youmustalwaysthinkofthelongterm,soevenifthoughitcouldbeadisappointment,don’tbediscouraged.Ifyouhandlethedisappointmentwell,andtherewillbelotsofotheropportunities.Andso,indeed,Iwas,um,originally,um,notoffered,butIwasindicatedthatSecretaryofLaborwasthepositionthattheywantedforme.AndIwasn’treallyveryfamiliar,um,withlaborasmuchasIwasfamiliarwithtransportation.SoIwashopingtobeappointedtotransportation.Butwhenthatdidnothappen,youknow,Iwasverycalm,andIthankedthePresidentandhisteamforconsideringme,Iwishedthemwellintheirnewadministration,thinkingthatIwasnotgoingtobeapartofit.Andthen2weeksafterwards,thePresident’snomineefortheSecretaryofLaborpositionencountereddifficultiesinherconfirmationhearing.IntheUnitedStates,thePresidentproposesasecretaryandthentheCongress,theSenetapproves.SotheoriginalchoicefortheSecretaryofLaborencountereddifficultiesinherconfirmationprocessandshehadtodropout.Sothey,theWhiteHouseandthePresidentneededtofindanewSecretaryofLabor,someonetheytrusted,someonewhotheyknowcanclear,andgaintheapprovaloftheSenet,whohadnoblemishontheirrecordsotheycangothroughtheconfirmationprocessveryeasily.Andso,theyapproachedmeagain,andaskedwhetherIwouldbeinterestedinapplying,inum,acceptingthepositionoftheSecretaryofLabor.AndsothatwashowIbecametheSecretaryofLabor.So,Iwasn’tthefirstchoice.

ButIthinklifeissointeresting.You,it’shardtoplaneverylittlestep.Youmustplanbutyoucan’tplaneverylittlestep.Andit’sveryveryhardto,um,knowalltheopportunities..So,Ithinktheabilitytohaveagoodattitude,theabilitytoalwaysbeconfident,tobeoptimisticandtolookaheadisveryimportant.So,whenItalkaboutmycareer,youknoweachofthestepisveryinteresting,butIneverplanedforit.Itjusthappened.BecauseIwashardworking,Iwasalwaystryingtodomorethanwhatwasaskedofme,andpeoplenoticed.So,whentheopportunitiescame,mynamealwayscametothesurface,alwayscametothetop.SoIthinkthemostimportantthingisit’simportanttoplanbutyoucan’tplaneverystep.Themostimportantthingisyouhavetohavesomeinnerconfidence,thatyoureallylikewhatyouaredoing.Youareinterested.So,whenIfirstenteredWashington,Iwasinterested,Iwasmotivated.IwantedtofindoutwhatmakesAmericarun.I’manimmigranttoAmerica,Ididn’tunderstandthegovernment,sothatiswhyIwantedtoenterthegovernment,IwantedtoseehowdoesAmericangovernmentwork.AndIgotin.AndthenonceIgotin,onedooropened;Iwentin,andthenanotherdooropened;andIwentinthereandthenanotherdooropened.NoneofthesedoorsIcouldhaveknownaboutfromtheverybeginning,becausemyworldatthattimewassosmall.AndthereweresofewAsianAmericans.Inthegovernmentatthattimethattherewasnoguide,noonetotellmewhattoe*pect.ButwhatIdidfindhelpful,andthisisagainwhatmyparentstaught

me,isyouhavetohavecourage,andinterestandcuriosity.Ithinkifthereisonethingthatmyparentstaughtmeagreatdealof,it’scuriosity.Youhavetohaveinterest,youhavetohavecuriosity.Andifyouarecurious,youwillgoonandseekmoredoorsandmoreopened.Andthesedoorswillopenifyouhavepersistence,ifyouplanaheadandifyouhavethewilltoproceed.

Theworldischangingsorapidly,soyou’llhavethesamekindofopportunitiesaswell.Therearesomanyopportunitiesforyou.Ican’ttellyouwhattheseopportunitiesare,butifyouhavetheinterest,andyouhavethewill,andyouhavetheconfidence,youwillhavealotofopportunities.That’sall.
