1.表示在过去发生过某事要用一般过去时，可有些同学总喜欢用一般现在时，而忽视了一般过去时的使用。例如：

I’mnothereyesterday.(×)

Iwasn’thereyesterday.(√)

注意：在凡含有yesterday,yesterdaymorning/afternoon,lastyear,...ago,justnow等表示过去的时间状语的句子中，要用一般过去时。

2.在含有行为动词的一般过去时的句子变为否定句或疑问句时，要借助助动词did，而不能使用was或were。例如：

WhenwereyoucallmefortheDVDmachine？(×)

WhendidyoucallmefortheDVDmachine？(√)

3.在含有行为动词的一般过去时的肯定句中，行为动词要用过去式。可是在一般疑问句或否定句中，由于句中加了助动词did或didn’t，那原句中的行为动词要还原为原形。可有些同学总是忘记这一点。例如：

Didyouhadyourlunchatschoolyesterday？

(×)

Didyouhaveyourlunchatschoolyesterday？(√)

4.行为动词的过去式拼写错误，主要是没有记住哪些是规则动词，哪些是不规则动词，以致经常出现过去式的拼写错误。例如：

Thechildcriedforhelpjustnow.(√)

5.英语中有些表示过去时间的词（组）如

yesterday,lastweek,amomentago等，其前不能加任何介词。例如：

HecametoChinaonyesterdayafternoon.(×)

6.在一段对话中，简略答语一般要用助动词替代上句中的动词，这时如果上句是含行为动词的一般过去时，就必须用did来替代，而有些同学却只记得使用do或does。例如：
