ivationofcollegestudents'Englishlanguagesense.Atthesametime,mostoftheresearchesonthecultivationofcollegestudents'languagesenseandEnglishsongsathomeandabroadfocusontherelationshipbetweenthesetwo,whereas,thepurposeofthisstudyistofurtherexploreeffectivenessofEnglishsongsinthecultivationofcollegestudents'languagesense.CHAPTERⅢTHECONCEPTSOFLANGUAGESENSE3.1TheDefinitionofLanguageSenseAtpresent,linguistshavemadedifferentinterpretationsoflanguagesensefromdifferentperspectives.Languagesenseisformedinthelong-termlanguagepractice,whichissensitiveandrichintheabilityoffeelingandunderstandinglanguage.Itinvolvesnotonlythedirectexternalaspectsoflanguage,includingpronunciationandcharacters,butalsotheabstractmeaningoflanguage,whichistheorganicunityofthetwo.Languagesensereferstothesenseoflanguage,whichisthedirectfeelingofthelearningsubjecttolanguage,andapsychologicalbehaviorofreprocessingandcreatingtheformandmeaningoflanguage.Languagesenseisthecorefactoroflanguageapplicationability.ItisthebasisofusingEnglishforinformationexchange,anditisalsoakindofabilityforlearnerstofeelandunderstandthelanguage.Thiskindofabilitycanreflectlearners'graspofEnglishlanguage(ZhangHongxia,2009:107).Theimprovementoflanguagesenseabilitycanbeenhancedbygoodlanguageability.Asakindofability,languagesensecannotbeproducedandobtainedbysimpleindoctrination,butcomesfromlanguagepracticeandguideslanguagepractice.Itisthesamewithmanythings.Ifyouareadancer,you'renecessarilywithproficientdanceskillsandmusclememory.Ifyouareadoctor,you'renecessarilywithprofessionalmedicaltechnology.Ifyouareahost,you’renecessarilywithcertainabilityofhostingandeloquence.Ifapersonwantstoreallymasterandusealanguage,agoodsenseoflanguagemustbeindispensable.Inshort,itispeople'sperceptionandinductionoflanguage,anditistheperformancefromlanguagetrainingtopractice.Itisformednaturallyinlong-termlanguagepractice.Thepersonwhohaspowerfullanguagesensealsowithbetterabilityofunderstanding.Hecanquicklyextractkeypointsfromtheconversationwithothers,accuratelyandfluentlyexpresshisownpointofview,andusethesenseoflanguagetoanalyzeandunderstandthesentencesintheprocessofreading.Onthecontrary,ifitisapersonwithweaksenseoflanguage,theresponseofhimwillbeslower.Accordingtothetheoryofcontemporarygenerativelinguistics,languagesensecanbeunderstoodasasystemoflanguageruletransformationandgenerationformedbytheinductionandinteractionofacquiredlanguageexperiencewithsomestructuresofhumanbrainpriortoexperience(BaoJiandong,SunLijuan,2012:7).3.2TheFeaturesofLanguageSenseIntheexistingresearch,therearefivefeaturesoflanguagesense.Thefirstoneisintuition.Thisisalmostasubconsciousinstinctiveresponsetolanguage,whichgoesbeyondthelinkoflanguageanalysisandreasoning.Peoplewithasenseoflanguagecanrecognizeorunderstandotherpeople'sspeech,andcanskillfullycreateorgeneratenewspeech.Second,itisofnon-transitivity,i.e.,languagesenseisnotknowledge.Itisakindofnon-transitiveindividualpsychologicalcharacteristicsandskillstructure,whichcannotexistoutsidethesubjectandcannotbeacquiredbymeansofteaching,butunconsciouslyacquiredbylanguagelearnersinlanguagepractice(WangTunbing,2006:107).Third,itisimplicit.Inotherwords,tointerpretthelanguagesenseclearlywithclearlanguageisaveryhardtask.TheexpressionofEnglishsentences,usuallymeans"canbesensed,butcannotbeexplainedinwords",itreflectsthepotentiallanguageability.Fourth,itisemotional.ThesenseoflanguageisnotonlytojudgerightandwrongoflanguagephenomenonandEnglishknowledge,butalsotomakeaquickperceptionofthetruthandfalsityoflanguagecontentandtheadvantagesanddisadvantagesoflanguageformation,soastocausetheemotionoscillationofthespeechsubjectandthenmakeajudgment.Fifth,itsinaccuracy.Senseoflanguageisakindofability,sotheprocedurethatcultivatinglanguagesensecan'tbeunchangeable.Becausesenseoflanguagehasanirresistibledynamicdevelopment,itcreatesitsinaccuracy.WangXuemei,ascholar,oncequotedthevariationresearchmodelofsociallinguistTrujilltoexplainthedynamicnatureoflanguagesenseindetail.(2006)3.3TheEssenceofLanguageSenseFromthepsychologicalpointofview,Englishlanguagesenseispeople'sdirectsenseofEnglish.ItisthemasteryandapplicationofEnglishrulesorlanguageorganizationmethods.Itdevelopsintorationalexperienceafterrepeatedemotionalunderstanding.Differentpeoplehavedifferencesinlanguageperceptionandlanguagepractice.Englishlanguagesenseisakindoffeeling,whichisakindofperceptionofhumanbraintotheobjectiveworldandlanguage.Itwillhaveobjectivedifferencesduetoindividualdifferences,generallydividedintonarrowsenseandbroadsense.Narrowsenseisthegradationoflanguagesense,whichisreferstothemeaningofmothertongueandsecondlanguage.It'softeninfluencedbysocial,cultural,psychological,customandotherfactors.Thebroadsenseoflanguagecontainsallthesensesoflanguageandhasuniversalsignificance(Qiqi,2019:51).Languagesenseistheproductoftheinteractionbetweensubjectandobject.Inthisprocess,thepreexistingpsychologicalstructureofsubjectisaprecondition.Althoughtheso-calledpsychologicalstructurealsoincludescertaininnateelements,itmainlyreferstotheconcentration,condensationandprecipitationofallsubjectiveknowledgeandexperienceinlong-termlearningandpracticeprocess.Itisarelativelystablepsychologicalresponsemodewiththeuniquenessofallpersonalexperience,anditisthesumofallcognitive,emotionalwillandindividualpsychologicalfeatureofthesubject,whichisdominatedandrestrictedtheroleandactivitiesofthesubjecttooutsideworld.(ZhaAixia,2009:33)3.4FormationofLanguageSense3.4.1ByListeningThebasicfeatureoflanguageacquisitionisthatinputisgreaterthanoutput.Relevantresearchshowsthattheamountoflanguageinputfacedbychildrenintheprocessofacquiringtheirmothertongueisfargreaterthanourimagination.Thisprovidesreferenceexperienceforsecondlanguagelearning.Fromtheperspectiveofsecondlanguageacquisition,thelanguagematerialsthatlearnersusuallycontactandabsorbarefavorablematerialsforenrichingthelanguagesystem,thebasisandpremiseforforminglanguagesense,andthemainwayforlanguagelearnerstoacquirelanguage.Theformationofsecondlanguagesensedependsontwokeyfactors.First,thedifficultyoflanguagematerials.Second,thequantityoflanguagematerials.Andproperlisteningtrainingjustprovidesaneffectivewaytoformasecondlanguage.Listeningisacompletereal-timeprocess,whichrequireslistenertorespondquicklytowhathehearsinacertainperiodoftime,tounderstandandremembercorrectlyandeffectively.Listeningcanfullymobilizethecomprehensivefunctionsofthelearners'vision,hearingandotherorgans,completethenon-verbalexpressioninformationthatcannotbecapturedbyhearingalone,andprovidethelearnerswithathree-dimensionalcontextthatcangetridofthefettersoftheirmothertongueandmobilizethelearners'eyes,ears,mouth,brainandeventhewholebodyandmindtorespondbyusingtheauxiliaryfunctionssuchasbodylanguage,sceneandpictureteachingmodecanstimulatelearners'interestinlearningtothegreatestextent(BaoJiandong,SunLijuan,2012:8).Throughlisteningtraining,EnglishlearnerscanimitateandlearnfrompureEnglishpronunciation,adapttothelanguageexpressionenvironmentandspecificbackground,andthenenhancethelanguagesenseandlanguageabilityofEnglishlearners.3.4.2BySpeakingAslanguagesenseisnotarationalruleinconsciousness,butakindofsensibilitytolanguage,anditsmanifestationisperceptualandintuitive(ZhangYuqing,HuangChiqiang,2011:358).Englishisaverypracticallanguage.Indailylife,learnersusetheword,expressionsandsentencesaccumulatedtomakedialogues,whichconstitutemanyconversationalprocessessoastoachievethepurposeoflanguagepractice.ThisalsoshowstheterminationofEnglishlearningisitscommunicativenature.Afteralongperiodofpracticeandaccumulation,thelearnersarefamiliarwithsentenceexpressionsaccumulatedindailylife,andthecontentofsentenceisnaturallyfixedinthemind.Oncethefixedframeisconsistentwithacertainsituationinreallife,itislikelytobeinvoluntarilyapplied,whichisthelanguagesenseformedbythedeepeningoflanguage(ChenHui,2004:99).3.4.3ByReadingOnlybyreadingmoreandrecitingmorecanlearnersobtainrulesinthesubtlelanguagelearning,graduallyformtheirownlanguage.Learnersreadrepeatedlywithexpressions,experiencethelanguagesenseinaspecificcontext,andeventuallyachievethesubtleeffectoflanguagesenseforming.Inreading,itteststhelearners'familiarityandmasteryofthelanguagetheyhavelearned.Throughreading,learnerscananalyzethereadingmaterialsbyusingtheircommonaccumulatedknowledgeofvocabulary,sentences,grammarandotherrelatedknowledge,furtherunderstandthereadingmaterials,andthendeeplyunderstandthemeaningofreadingmaterialsandtheideasconveyed.Throughrepeatedanalyzingandunderstandingofdifferentreadingmaterials,learners'languagesensewillbegraduallyformedintheprocess.Readingisdividedintointensivereadingandextensivereading.Intensivereadingcanhelplearnersmasterandexpandvocabularyandgrammar,andimprovereadingskills.Extensivereading,especiallyspeedreading,canmakelearnerscontactwithmoreabundantlanguagematerialsandreceivealotofEnglishinformation.Thesearebothvitalfortheformationoflanguagesense.3.4.4ByWritingThematurityandshapingofEnglishlanguagesensealsoneedlanguageoutput.Theprocessofwritingisaverygoodoutputprocess,whichisoneoftheeffectivemethodstotestwhetherlearnersreallymasteralanguage.Intheprocessofwriting,learnersneedtousetheiraccumulatedvocabulary,grammaticalstructure,sentenceexpression,layoutofthewholearticle,alsoneedtoconsidertheapplicability,fluencyandaccuracyofthelanguage,moreimportantly,whethertheycanusethesewordstoaccuratelyconveytheirideastothereaders.Readingmoreandlisteningmoreisaneffectivewaytocultivateandexpandthelanguagesenseandsubconsciousness.Butiflearnerswanttotransformthelanguagesensefromthedevelopmentofsubconsciousnesstotheactionofexternalization,andleadtomorecomprehensivedevelopment,thereisonlyoneway--towritemoreaswritingisthebestfeedbackoflistening,speakingandreading.WritingtrainingisalsoindispensablefortheimprovementofEnglishlanguagesense.Foranylanguage,writingisthehighestrequirementfortheuseoflanguageandtheembodimentofbeingabletofullygraspthelanguage,andit’salsoamustforthedevelopmentoflanguagesense.CHAPTERⅣSTUDYDESIGNANDANALYSIS4.1StudyDesign4.1.1ObjectsofthisStudyTheresearchobjectsofthisstudyisthestudentsofNeusoftInstituteGuangdong.Thenumberofstudentsinthesurveyis131,andthesestudentscomefromvariousmajors.4.1.2ResearchToolsTheauthordesignsaquestionnaireontheeffectivenessofEnglishsongsinthecultivationofEnglishlanguagesensebyreadingtherelevantliteraturewhichmainlyfocusonrelationsbetweenEnglishsongsandthecultivationofEnglishlanguagesense,howtocultivateEnglishlanguagesense,EnglishsongsandEnglishlearning,andusingEnglishsongstopromotetheEnglishlanguagesenseofvocationalcollegestudents,etc.Basedontheliteratureabove,theauthordesignsaquestionnaire.Pleaserefertotheappendixfollowingthispaper.Exceptforthefirsttwoquestions,theauthorhassetfouroptionsfortherespondentstochoose.Fromthesefouroptions,theauthorcananalyzerespondents'viewsonthequestionssetupinthequestionnairecarefullyandthoroughly.Itreflectstherespondents'thoughtsoneachquestionandtheirunderstandingoftheeffectivenessofEnglishsongsinlanguagesensecultivation,whichmakesthequestionnairemorerigorous,soastofacilitatethefurtherresearchoftheauthor.(Chinesequestionnaireattached)4.1.3DataCollectionThedatacollectionofthisstudyisbasedontheplatformofquestionnairestar.131questionnairesweredistributed,131questionnaireswerecollectedand131ofthemarevalidquestionnaires.TheauthorconductedreliabilityanalysisbyusingSPSS,anditturnedoutthatreliabilitycoefficientwas0.903whichishigherthan0.9,andthereliabilitycoefficientwillnotbesignificantlyimprovedaftertheitemisdeleted,whichindicatesthatthedatareliabilityqualityisdesirablyhighandcanbeusedforfurtheranalysis.4.2AnalysisoftheSurveyResultTable1Table2Theauthorconductedaquestionnairesurveyon"theeffectivenessofEnglishsongsinthecultivationoflanguagesense"amongstudentsofNeusoftInstituteGuangdong.Therewere131studentsparticipatinginthissurvey.Table1isaboutthequestionIhavesomeknowledgeofEnglishlanguagesense,itshowsthatthereare94peoplewhoknowaboutthelanguagesense,accountingfor71.76%ofthetotalnumberofrespondents.Thereare37peoplewhodon'tknowaboutthelanguagesense,accountingfor28.24%ofthetotalnumberofrespondents.ThedatashowsthatmostofstudentsinvestigatedinNeusoftInstituteGuangdongknowaboutthelanguagesense.Table2isaboutthequestionIhavethehabitoflisteningtoEnglishsongs,itshowsthatthereare91peoplewhohavethehabitoflisteningtoEnglishsongs.Itaccountsfor69.47%ofthetotalnumberofrespondents,andthereare40peoplewhodonothavethehabitoflisteningtoEnglishsongs,accountingfor30.53%ofthetotalnumberofrespondents.ThedatashowsthatmostofstudentsinNeusoftInstituteGuangdonghavethehabitoflisteningtoEnglishsongs.Table3Table3isthefourthquestioninthequestionnairelisteningtomoreEnglishsongscanstimulateinterestinEnglishlearning.Thedatashowsthatthereare9peoplewhodisagree,60peoplewhoslightlyagree,47peoplewhoagree,and15peoplewhostronglyagree.Thepercentageofthesepeopleinthetotalnumberofrespondentsis6.87%,45.8%,35.88%and11.45%respectively.Thesurveyresultsshowthat93.13%ofrespondentsbelievethatlisteningtoEnglishsongscanstimulatetheirinterestinEnglishlearning.Itisgenerallyknownthatthekeypointtolearningmotivationisinterest.Englishsongsareoneofthemosteffectivewaystoimprovestudents'interest.TheycreatearelaxedandpleasantatmosphereforEnglishlearners,createanenvironmentwithlowemotionalfilteringdegreetoeliminatepsychologicalbarriers,reducetheemotionalfilteringdegree,andmakelearnerskeeparelaxedattitudeinthelearningprocess,eliminatetheanxietyofsecondlanguageacquisition,andmakethemtreatEnglishwithamoreopenattitude.LanguagelearningguaranteesthepremiseandeffectofEnglishknowledgeinput.4.2.1AStatisticalAnalysisoftheCorrelationbetweenEnglishSongsandtheCultivationofEnglishLanguageSenseTable4Table5Table4isthethirdquestioninthequestionnaire-thereisacertaincorrelationbetweenEnglishsongsandthecultivationofEnglishlanguagesense.Forthisquestion,5respondentsdisagree,62slightlyagree,50agreeand14stronglyagree.Theproportionofthesepeopleinthetotalnumberofrespondentsis3.82%,47.33%,38.17%and10.69%respectively.Thesurveyresultsshowthat96.18%oftherespondentsbelievethatEnglishsongshavecertainrelevancewiththecultivationofEnglishlanguagesense.Table5revealsthefifthquestioninthequestionnaire,whichisaboutEnglishsongscreateconditionsandenvironmentforthecultivationofEnglishlanguagesense.Thereare95.42%ofthe131respondentsagreewiththisitem,thatistosay,EnglishsongscreatecorrespondingconditionsandsuitableenvironmentforthecultivationofEnglishlanguagesense.Fromthesurveyresultsofthesetwoquestions,itcanbeseenthatmoststudentsofNeusoftInstitudeGuangdongthinkthatEnglishsongscancultivatecorrespondingEnglishlanguagesense,laycertainfoundationforthegenerationofEnglishlanguagesense,andprovidefavorableconditionsandcorrespondinglanguageenvironmentforthecultivationofEnglishlanguagesense.4.2.2AStatisticalAnalysisoftheCorrelationbetweenListeningAbilityandtheSenseofLanguageDevelopedbyListeningtoEnglishSongsTable6Table6revealsthesixthquestionofthequestionnaire.Thatis“thelanguagesensecultivatedbylisteningtoEnglishsongscanimprovemyEnglishlisteningability”.Amongthe131objects,thereare14peoplewhodisagree,70peoplewhoslightlyagree,35peoplewhoagree,and12peoplewhostronglyagree.Thesepeopleaccountfor10.69%,53.44%,26.72%and9.16%ofthetotalnumberofintervieweesrespectively.Thedatashowsthat89.31%ofrespondentsbelievethatlisteningtoEnglishsongscancultivatetheirsenseoflanguageandimprovetheirlisteningability.Musicisakindofsoundart,whichcanbeexpressedbysoundandfeltintheprocessoflistening.Intheprocessoflistening,learnersinternalizetherulesofEnglishintheformofknowledgeandturntheminto"internalmode"(ZhangYuqing,HuangChiqiang,2011:358).Englishsongsprovideatypicalsituationoflanguagecommunication,whichcanspantimeandspaceandreproduceeverysceneofreallife.TheappreciationofEnglishsongsenablesstudentstohearnativeandauthenticpronunciationandintonationoftheBritishandAmerican,andcontactwithalargenumberofvividandstandardlifeandsocialcommunicationlanguages.Atthesametime,theEnglishlanguagesenseisalsopenetrated.IfthelearnerisoftensunkintheEnglishenvironmentcreatedbyEnglishsongs,hisbraincanreceivethetrainingoflanguagesenseimperceptibly-languagesenseisalsoaperson'sproficiencyinlanguagemastery(ZhongAijun,2008:173).InEnglishsongs,ifyoulistentothosebeautifulEnglishoverandoveragain,youcanmasteralotoflanguageexpressionsinaveryrelaxedenvironment,andtheseexpressionsareofteneasierforpeopletorememberdeeplyandmasterskillfully.4.2.3AStatisticalAnalysisoftheCorrelationbetweentheOralExpressionAbilityandtheSenseofLanguageDevelopedbyListeningtoEnglishSongsTable7Table8Table7isabouttheseventhquestionofthequestionnaire,thatis,"thelanguagesensecultivatedbylisteningtoEnglishsongscanmakemypronunciationandintonationmoreconsistentwithemotionalexpression".Accordingtothesurveyresult,17peopledisagree,56slightlyagree,45agreeand13stronglyagree.Thesepeopleaccountfor12.98%,42.75%,34.35%and9.92%ofthetotalrespondentsrespectively.Tosumitup,87.02%oftherespondentsbelievethattheirpronunciationandintonationcanbefurtherimprovedbythelanguagesensethatcultivatedbylisteningtoEnglishsongs,andmoreinlinewiththeirownemotionalexpression.
Table8isabouttheeighthquestionofthequestionnaire,thatis,"thelanguagesensedevelopedbylisteningtoEnglishsongscanmakemyoralexpressionmoreveritable".Theresultshowsthat16peopledisagree,67peopleslightlyagree,40peopleagreeand8peoplestronglyagree.Thesepeopleaccountfor12.21%,51.15%,30.53%and6.11%ofthetotalrespondentsrespectively.Accordingtothesurveyresults,87.79%oftherespondentsbelievethatlisteningtoEnglishsongscanmaketheiroralexpressionmoreveritable.Fromthesurveyresultsofthesetwoquestions,itcanbetoldthe131respondentsagreewiththesetwoquestionstothesameextent.
Althoughthesetwoquestionsarebothaboutoralexpressionability,theauthorcanseetheattitudesoftherespondentstothesetwoquestionsareslightlydifferent.Intheseventhquestion,42.75%oftherespondentsslightlyagreethatthelanguagesensecultivatedbylisteningtoEnglishsongscanmaketheirpronunciationandintonationmoreconsistentwithemotionalexpression,while51.15%oftherespondentsslightlyagreeon
