possiblyshotordeadfromstarvationorexhaustion.Onecoldmorning

eightmonthsafterourreturn,myfatherhadacallfromanoldladywhosaidshewas

puttingfoodout“foraveryolddog”.Inthenightthefooddisappeared.Thishadbeengoingonforafewweeks.

Thatwasenoughformyfathertointerruptmyhomeworkandwesetoffimmediately.Whenwearrivedattheold

lady’shouse,sheinvitedusintoanoldbush.Sadly,shethentoldusthatthe
