冠词的省略

零冠词主要指不能运用冠词的状况，冠词的省略主要指可用可不用冠词的状况，这与名词前零冠词的.运用是不同的。

1.文章标题、书名等前冠词的省略

文章的题目、新闻标题、广告语、书名、电报中，在不引起歧义的状况下，冠词可不用，从而使行文更加简明、快捷。

HistoryofChinabeforetheHanDynasty《汉朝以前史》(书名)

GuangzhouExportCommoditiesFairOpens广州对外出口商品博览会开幕(新闻标题)

2.部分并列或对称名词前冠词的省略

(1)两个并列名词都有冠词在前面时，其次个名词前的冠词常可被省略。

Isthebabyaboyor(a)girl?

这个婴儿是男孩还是女孩？

Boththeoldand(the)youngwillbeinvitedtotheparty.

年老的和年轻的都会被邀参与这个宴会。

(2)在一些对称结构中，常常可以将冠词省略掉。

from(the)eastto(the)west从东到西

from(the)morningtill(the)night从早到晚

from(the)beginningto(the)end从头到尾

(3)序数词前定冠词的省略

在某些状况下，序数词前的定冠词常省略。

月日表达中：March(the)eighth

并列运用两个序数词，后面序数词前的定冠词常省略。

thetwentiethandtwenty-firstcenturies等。

在某些动词短语中，序数词常省略。
