happiness,Lyubomirskyunderstandsfarbetterthanmostofusthefollyof
pinningourhopesonanewcar-oronanygoodfortunethatcomesourway.
Wetendtoadapt,quicklyreturningtoourusuallevelofhappiness.Theclassic
exampleofsuch"hedonicadaptation”(享乐适应)comesfroma1970sstudy
