sites.However,thesurveysshowedthatthebearsforagedfoodinjust16.7%ofthebromeliadareastheycould
find.Andeanbearsweremorelikelytoforageinthedryseasonwhenyoungandsoftplantswerehealthierforthem
toeat.Theyseldomforagedforbromeliadsoutsidethenationalpark,wherelivestockfeed.
MountainousgrasslandsnexttocloudforestarekeyhabitatsforAndeanbears,andgovernmentsshould
