almostnocompetitionforaplaceontheBritainteam.

Butanumberofhurdles(障石导)couldhavemeanttheendofEdwards'dream.

Heweighedmorethanmostcompetitors,whichputhimatadisadvantage.Hehad

nofinancialsupportforhi,training.Pooreyesightmeantthathehadtowearglasses

underhisgoggles(护R镜)-notagoodthingwhentheysteamedupathighaltitudes.

Buthecouldn'tletanyofthisdiscouragehim.Hesawhimselfasatrueloverofthe

sportwhosimplywantedthechancetocompete.Winningwasn'tthepoint.Having
