naptimeof1hourwaslinkedtogetting13.6minuteslesssleepatnight,onaverage,and
pushedbackthetimeatwhichthechildgottosleepatnightby6.4minutes.Ondayswhen
childrennapped,theiroverallsleeptimeacrossthedayincreasedby45minutes.
"Napsresultedinasignificantincreaseintotaldailysleeptime,bringingchildrencloser
totherecommendedinternationalsleepdurationfora24-hourperiod,"saysMazza.The
WorldHealthOrganizationrecommendsthatchildrenofthisageshouldsleepfor10to13
hoursperday.
“Parentsshouldn'tworryiftheirchildstillneedsanapbeforetheageof6,”saysMazza.
