1、TourismInterpretation,随着中国同海外各国政治、经济、文化交流的加强，越来越多的外国人对有着悠久历史、灿烂文明、壮丽自然风光、56个民族独特风土人情的中国产生了浓厚的兴趣，他们纷纷来中国旅游观光，亲身体验、感受这种异域文化。据世界旅游组织的预测，到2020年，中国将会成为全世界最大旅游目的地。由于语言不通，绝大多数海外游客在游览时需要通过导译员的翻译来了解中国的名胜古迹、历史文化、民族风情。国外旅游业界流行这样一句话，“Tour guides make or break a tour” (成也导游，败也导游）。国内旅游业界也有一句行话，“祖国山河美不美，全靠导游一张嘴”。虽

2、然上述两种说法有些夸张，但却非常形象地说明了导游口译在将本国的自然风光、人文景观等介绍给其它国家人民时的重要作用。,导游口译,导游口译是口译的一种形式。一般情况下，从事这项工作的人员可能是旅行社接待外国游客的职业导游员，也可能是各地外事办陪同人员或企事业单位的专职或兼职口译人员。 导游口译工作要求口译员必须长期不懈坚持学习。旅游景点介绍的内容包罗万象，可能涉及历史、典故、诗词、风俗、宗教、天文、地理、政治、经济等领域，因而要求译员不断扩大知识面，提高中、英文语言表达能力和文化修养。,导游口译的原则,导游口译是典型的跨文化交际翻译。外国游客来中国旅游，就是为了了解中国文化，亲身感受这种异域文化。

3、因此，作为“文化的使者”，译员在翻译导游词时，必须以传播中国文化为取向，尽量保存中国文化信息。 另外，由于口译以口语形式进行，而口语又具有转瞬即逝的特点，当译员的声音消失后，游客在大脑中只留下了认知回忆，因此，口译的信息内容必须在它说出的瞬间立即被理解，也就是说，信息内容必须明白易懂。因而，译员口译时，需要充分考虑游客的接受能力，使用的句型结构不宜复杂，选词也应尽量简单、易懂。,导游口译的原则,对景点的讲解和翻译要针对不同文化层次的客人采取灵活的方法，不能千遍一律地像背书一样把景点材料背给游客听，而要像和朋友聊天一样，重点介绍客人想了解、感兴趣的内容。这就要求导游口译员主动熟悉景点的文化内涵，

15、于中西方文化的差异,一些具有中国文化特色的词在英语里出现词汇空缺或词义空白现象，无法找到对应的词汇来表示。如果用意译法来翻译, 其中蕴涵的文化信息便会丢失，无法传递给迫切希望了解中国文化的海外游客；直译或音译能够保留汉语词汇的民族文化色彩，但如果不加说明，又会给游客带来理解上的困难。因此，我们可以在直译/音译之后加上对该词的解释，补偿、增添其中的文化信息。,Example,傣族的泼水节 ？ Water Sprinkling Festival ？ a big festival for the Dai nationality to wish everyone happiness by splash

17、eak.,2. 删减 中国人在描写人和事物时喜欢使用形容词，导游在介绍旅游景点、描述人物、历史、文化等时，形容词用得尤其多，而且辞藻华丽。另外，中国人的美学观念中特别强调平衡美，大量使用四字词组。许多四字词组包含意思相同或相近的两组词，如“美味可口”，“千变万化”，“无边无际”等。并列使用意思相近的四字成语的情况也十分常见，如“分道扬镳，各奔前程”，“司空见惯，屡见不鲜”，“远隔重洋，天各一方”。 由于同义或近义重复，口译时将其中一组词语译出即可。另外，并列使用的词组中，有的词语信息已隐含在另一组词中，因此，删减一组词语是不会影响表达效果的。相反，如果导游译员将解说词一字不落地翻译成英语，外国

18、游客听了反而会感到重复罗嗦，语言夸张，滑稽可笑。,3. 给汉语无主句添加主语 汉语和英语的句法表现形式不同，汉语重意合，英语重形合，句子结构严谨，逻辑关系清楚。汉语中存在大量无主句，而英语句子一般都需要有主语，因此，在将汉语无主句翻译成英语时，除了少数可用英语无主句、There be句型等结构以外，一般都需要根据语境将主语补充出来。导游口译员介绍景点时，由于其讲话对象是海外游客，可在翻译时将主语you添加出来。如果口译是在参观的途中，也可添加主语we。,沿则渣瓦沟景区游览，可观赏季节海、五彩池等景点。 While walking along Zezhawa Gully, you can enj
