Text presentation and language points1. Couple Finds Being Two of a Kind Is a Recipe for Happiness (Title) Meaning: The husband and the wife have learned that the secret of a happy life lies in being of the same type.Note that the word couple has no article because it is a title. This is similar to a newspaper article title. For example: Meteor (流星) Hits New York City.Also notice the structure of the sentence: Couple is the subject and find is the predicate verb (谓语动词) which governs an objective clause (宾语从句). The -ingparticipial phrase being two of a kind functions as the subject in this objective clause. 2. American couple Donald and Nancy Featherstone fit the description two of a kind perfectly.Meaning: Donald and Nancy Featherstone, an American couple, can be well described as being two birds of a feather.3. Nancy took her mothers advice and even made a shirt for herself to match the shirt she had made for Donald, and that was the start of it. Meaning: Nancy did what her mother suggested and made two matching shirts, one for Donald and one for her. That was the beginning of their dressing alike.。4.
